You know what happened to the Lanao votes? There are so many "snopaked" entries and erasures. Worse the original canvass was not submitted to COMELEC Manila right away. The results of the special elections were combined with the original canvass. It is when the results of the special elections in the 27 municipalities are combined with the original results that the horrendous votes of Barbers came out almost wiping the lead of Sen. Biazon.

hmmmm, erasures are nulled and voided btw. and i'm sure na there were representatives of the various candidates present when these ballots were moved.why can't losers just quit whining and admit like a gentleman that they lost?

see, this is a simple case of how a single word can completely mess up a sentence.the simple change of "news" to "rules" changes the whole things. what the speaker in this case GMA is trying to say is that canvassing has to be delayed because the rules of canvassing votes have not been voted on. for those not familiar with canvassing of votes, there are strict rules and protocol to be followed when canvassing votes. if these rules are not followed, then it can be grounds for nullification of votes.normally, these rules are agreed on by a vote by the board of canvassers along with the representatives of the different candidates of that particular area. so canvassing could be delayed if this is the case, no rules would mean the votes from that area could be counted as void

The purported taped telephone conversation between the President and the Comelec Commissioner is inadmissible in evidence:

1. Who would dare authenticate, the technician who supposedly tapped and recorded the purported conversation.

2. The tape conversation was apparently made in violation of the Anti-Wiretapping Law.

Politicians are a wonderful lot. During the Senate investigation on jueteng in 2000, a senator wanted to discontinue the investigation on the ground that certain taped conversation was contrary to the Anti-Wiretapping Law. Now the same politician is fulminating on the Floors of the Senate on the basis of what are apparently illegally-obtained taped conversation.

Where are the principles and intellectual honesty in that?

All I am hoping right now is that the people remain calm and sober and do not let themselves be used as unwitting instruments just to propagate some sectors' selfish agenda.

They can follow the stockmarket's example and continue on with business and just ignore the political hoopla something that we have seen more than enough.

i think blade got a point: how can we know that lawyer paguia is not lying? is he not a former lawyer of the deposed president?

and why serge osmena is credible when he says which is which (the original or the spliced)? is he an expert now? remember he's from the opposition and cannot be an impartial arbiter (same with the lawyer).

the problem is there is a lot or assumption and speculation here and not much on the fact. and in this country, there is no way we could get to the bottom of this.

mildly we could say that the palace mishandled the situation big time (i can't say they f#cked it up, right?). maybe its a smokescreen for jueteng or they are just pre-empting the opposition. what is clear that they misjudge the sentiment of the people and the action opposition.

I believe atty. paguia's tape is the orig. It is he who is given the copy of the original source who is still unknown as of presstime.

For that, I think he is more credible.
