if for you 8hours is fulltime, you might be thinking of priesthood as a job.
well.. it's not. its a vocation.
    got this from butitoy...

There is an ocean of difference between having a day to day normal job and from having a vocation. Vocation is a calling from God, a personal challenge for you(the priests) to shepherd His flock, which in all case the Catholic church deem necessary and by common sense and universal law, our church deserves the soul right for determining this because we as an institute manage our own from internal magisterium, and does not need any opinion nor influence from outer source of ideas, to put it on compulsory requirement, as stated by the church canons pertaining to celebacy to have our priests maintain a single-blessedness state in life.

Bottom line, this inquiry has already been sufficiently answered by our church, even with the absence of necessity that it may hinder our existence but out of answering dire ingenious curiosity and criticisms.

    dimished? of course yes!

are you married? id no..get married and know the diffirence..

if you are married and you're not given your fulltime for your wife and kids....u have been mislead.

having kids? priest are entrusted with the whole flock....

" when JESUS appeared to PETER , the first Pope ..HE asked peter the rock.. Peter do you love me? he answer.." Yes my LORD.." FEED my sheep "said JESUS this is asked thrice..

now the burden of having so many children..my earthly father had the burden of having to takecare of the 11siblings in my family..the priest in my parish had the weight to carry the whole parish in my community..

presbyters are married to GOD in the ordination. sleeping with someone else is called adultery

who said they are not working 24/7?
if you know a priest hu does not offer his works 24/7 to GOD, he is misleaded again.
working 24/7 to GOD does not mean praying 24/7...there are thing called eating.socialization.watching manny pacquiao for the glory of GOD.

" LOVE GOD with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength "

which word is hard to understand?

OT naman ni sya about na man ni sa pagminyo sa mga pare..hehe pero kini lang akong ikashare

1Tim.3:2-5 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)

other translations translate "overseers" as "bishops"

The bishop therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, given to hospitality, apt to teach; no brawler, no striker; but gentle, not contentious, no lover of money; one that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (but if a man knoweth not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

hehe.. mas maau jud lagi ang minyo

another blessed man who is not surpassed is JOHN the BAPTIST..a prophet like no other.

    basin...

and as far as i've read. its JOHN ( the voice that shout in wilderness.." prepare the way for the coming of the MESSIAH.. ), son of the barren Prophetess Elizabeth : " How is it that the Mother of the LORD ( MARY, carrying JESUS in HER womb that time ) had come to me ( Elizabeth ) ? for as soon as i've heard your voice..the child ( JOHN ) in my womb leap for JOY ... Blessed are you ( MARY ) amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb "

and Prophet Zechariah..the unbelief.who became deaf and mute as chastisement but proclaimed the greatness of GOD during JOHN's birth

JOHN. of whom GOD had said.. "see? i'm sending my servant before you....."

and JESUS had said.."..of man born in this world, NONE would be as great prophet as JOHN..."

but MARY is not a prophet. SHE is the EARTHEN VESSEL of GOD.

and HE is also speaking of HIS mother..

who had said.." May it done to me according to your word.. " during the visit of the angel to announce the goodnews.

SHE had heard the words of GOD.SHE did not just obey but live with it..

and "....HAD KEPT EVERYTHING IN HER HEART" meaning SHE did not voice out any claim to be someone.. to be a high priestess.

Are you sure? What about the Anglican church? They have women priests!

Ordination of female priests and bishops

    In the worldwide Anglican Communion

    Quotation:

"I've often thought of my ministry as a wedge plowing a field that is hard, leaving behind something softer that's ready for new life." Bishop Geralyn Wolf of Rhode Island, the first female dean of an Anglican cathedral
    Concerning the Anglican Communion itself:

The total membership of the worldwide Anglican Communion is approximately 76 million. Each of the 38 national or multi-national churches, called "provinces," has wide powers of self-government. They independently decide who is eligible for ordination. The leader of each province -- the Primate -- and the bishops meet every ten years at the Lambeth Conference. They attempt to reach general agreement on basic matters of faith and social policy. The next meeting is scheduled for 2008.
In 1998, the General Assembly of the Nippon Sei Ko Kai (Anglican Church in Japan) voted to accept female priests. With this development, the majority of provinces will now consider women for ordination. Some provinces have consecrated women as bishops; most still refuse.
