in mindanao wayback 1980s sikaran is much well known martial art sport than yawyan.Usually during that time martial artist went school to school to challenge whos the better style.our tournament that time was usually helt in a gym or a collesium just like fighting cocks.

godsaint: yup thats true. but Sikaran today has evolved just like most martial arts to make it more fitting to a civil society. tournaments are more organized and the method of training are more systematic. but still the essence of Sikaran as a tradition remains the same, and that is the use of foot in sportfighting in the Pitak ( circular arena ).

yokam : yup. thats the Pencak Silat squad. the students are training for free. were hosting this year's national pencak silat championships in May 28-31.
