Not entirely. California has just recently legalised self-cultivating marijuana by age 21 years or older while the Philippines can't do such things. There's still a difference, the Philippines isn't America. It's also not about the trend or 'sunod-sunod', it's about having control over something that already exists but isn't within the Government's grasp.

My point ra was not to exaggerate to a point na we follow 'everything'.

    No.
The kidnap part was simply an example to stress my point and wasn't used against anyone. Like I said earlier, dili ingon mo legal ta eh mo sunod ta sa ila style. There has to be certain restrictions.

Again, this would only happen if the Government will allow it although it is highly unlikely going to happen.
I see, thanks for your No answer btw.

So, your point ra was not to exaggerate to a point na we follow 'everything'. then what could we possibly do for a legal prostitution pinoy style?

    2) ma educate ang mga prosti about their protecton (health issues - HIV/Aids, white slavery..etc)
    3) magbayad na sila og tax
    4) mawagtang "Hopefully" ang syndicato nga nagdala nila (just like HK)

but then again bai, depende na sa unsa ang balaod nga i-impose...og di pasad ni bagay sa pinas karon kay daghan pa kaayo tag mas dako nga problema..so dont worry di pani mahitabo..wehehe
Have you known this proposal? Note that, this proposal doesn't mean to encourage prostitution instead protect the rights of the prostitutes.

I can't say much really since I'm no expert in such things Siguro continue lang with brothels and such. That way, dili sila palaboy sa kalye. Luoy ra kaayo tan.awon.

Another would be taxes, that way, men would think twice of getting prostitutes since nagkamahal na man. This may lessen the customers but this would also benefit the government (sayang ra kaayo kay unta sa ato mapunta ang taxes - ang problema kay ibulsa man sa mga korakot na opisyal). This would also lessen the chances of STDs since prostitutes would be a bit expensive than before.

Main important thing siguro would be to educate them with regards to their health and to educate them that even prostitutes have their own rights in a society as human beings.

well, i will not be sure..like i said..di pana pwede sa ato tungod kinahanglan pa i-overhaul ang pinas bai...
but if HK pana, then you can read thier history on prostis...naka dungog ba ka og prosti nga taga HK? wala diba? because di man sad tawn ganahan ang mga tao nga magprosti, labi nag taas ang level sa imo education..on taxing them? dili man jud justified bai but can you think of a solution para mawagtan ni?
Taxing them & imposing laws will ideally make it harder to venture on this type of work...of course naa jud nay loopholes but trabaho na na sa ato gov't ang pag-apas ana..wehehe

Prostitution is already here and tolerated, has been for a very long time. All those neon bars... what you think that's all about? Decriminalizing something is a step towards controlling it. The drugs comparison is not fitting as types of drugs vary wildly with the highly addictive substances producing clear victims. One cannot clearly identify a victim when talking about prostitution especially when a mechanism is in place to protect the workers as is the case in several progressive European towns & cities.

For sure this is a contentious issue, but one which I firmly believe deserves proper consideration rather than outright dismissal.
yes there is a big difference between permitting and promoting but given this kind of issue, lahi ang impact ani.

anyways, don't compare us with HK because we are not the same. Most people here are poor, bisag unsang trabaho ilang itake para lang makakwarta. If we legalize it, we will be opening up opportunities for them. Do u think legalizing it kay mausab ang panan aw sa taw sa usa ka prostitute? I admit, at this point in time dili pa ta ka dali dalig erase sa prostitution but legalazing it will make it more difficult to erradicate.

exactly bai...bisan unsang klase nga bisyo bai di naman kinahanglan nga i-promote... they will still exist.
if we want to change this country of ours then everybody should be taxed. again, di pani ang panahon para sa pinas nga mo legalize ani..daghan pa kaayong moral & cultural issues ang pinas , plus pa nga ubos pa kayo ato level of education bai (sad to say). but if someday mausab na ang pinas (like HK or even japan) then dha pa ta makahibalo if maayo ba jud or dili ni ilegalize...nice discussion by the way...let's keep this interesting..wehehe
