Am very very happy with my work Got an amazing woman for a boss and am glad I took the risk left the call center industry after 4 years and decided to go full time as a freelancer.

i thought that i got paid a lot at chase before, but it doesn't even compare to being a freelancer. now i understand why my callers would use "im on a fixed income" as an excuse like its being poor, when in the philippines being a salaried employee is a requirement to get a credit card, postpaid line, etc. but in the u.s., the ones with money are the freelancers. it's bec they can earn as much as they want to. work like hell and you're in paradise come payday. work so-so and you still get by... i can now earn in 3 days what i used to earn in one payday, but i don't work myself out for now. chillax lang. in other words, happy ako

you need to find something you're good at and be able to use the skills you have right now. "find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life" still applies. going freelance may not be for everyone. if you're a web designer, writer, transcriber, va or esl tutor, you can find your own clients or join an online company. there are many sites offering freelance work. if you want to work at home, have the proper set up in terms of area, equipment, time, mood (you may not be able to work properly in the living room when there are lots of people watching TV, going in and out, etc.).

if you like being in the field, you can be an insurance agent. as in any sales, build a network that can be your market. different fields of freelance have different settings and different requirements. make sure you can deliver and are up to the demands of the job. for example, you have to be disciplined because you have deadlines or quotas. you can be in your most comfortable clothes, even naked (if you're not on webcam), but always be professional.

lastly, don't join just because of the hype, but because you know you can do it. if you're in IT, you can accept repair/troubleshooting jobs from friends. you can charge them less than what they'd have to pay in a repair shop. tell them to refer you to others. hope this helps =)

still grateful, but not happy. bisag lami ug sweldo, my heart's not into it. that's why i don't feel like giving my all. so-so lng akong gpakita nga performance.
