try booting sa boot loader, volume down + power button man tingali. if yes, kung naa ka recovery, pwede ka magflash ug lain rom

di ko ka switch to bootloader sir. thats the prob. ive posted a photograph of my htc sa isa ka post.

in some forums like Gsmarena and xdas they said na DHD is still a better choice than IS ky tugod sa ram. but IMO nice raman sd ang IS ky updated ang android version and im sure it will receive HTC's loving ota support than the dhds. ana sila gingerbread na daw ang last nga update for dhd. i hope not. but its still your choice though. nice ni ang IS ky naai front-facing camera, pang skype beybeh!

continuing my plan. my old SE phone could be used as a mobile modem
for my laptop. but don't see any option for this with the X8.

what's the best way or app for using android phone as a modem?

i think daghang apps ana sa market sir. browse lang. ma ula kas kadaghan. try to read their comments sd sa mga apps para mka decide ka kung asai mga maau ana nila.

I saw free/demo versions of pdanet and easytether on the market

was hoping to find out what people are actually using here... and
if there was any free full version app that could do it well also

try PdaNet sir or Easy tether lite, barnacle wifi tether or internet sharer.
