REALITY:
project was ordered from the real client, your client the one that approached you is actually another firm/designer who gets paid 30-40k project and he/they only offered you 5k.

this is real. common practice ni sa usa ka companya nga naay office sa ayala. victim ko aning companyaha. so 5k for web site design static or whatever is a NO. pay me at least 30k. Di ni pang hambug. I value myself. And I am thankful for the gift that God has given me. But I don't let people abuse my talents. Especially companies or individuals wanting to get profit by doing nothing. Also I believe that the talents of pinoys can be at par with others from other countries. Asking for the right amount (cheaper even for them) for the right amount of work for the right features is not being to western. It is valuing the work we do. If not aw kanyaha rang pirmi lang i conquer ang pinas sa bisan kinsang nasud kai mag pa under man.

It still boils down to the depth of the project. Mostly, freelancers charge it on a hourly basis. If ang iya lang himuon is to code a basic website, I think 5k is already a good price to start with. However, if siya pa ang modesign sa concept then naa pa jud domain registration and hosting, then, 5k is already waayyyyyyyy below the belt.
