Oo, wa sya niingon..pero naa na bay napreso? Wa man sad na niya giingon nga ok sya nga ipapriso ang pari nga nakasala bai. naa ba?
. Since article man ang atong gistoryahan, Ang dakong kahibogngan kay kini: exposing the abuser & victim to the media will only add to pain? Hmmm, if the aim is to get justice do you really & honestly think the victim (& the family) will not fight for it? & sakto ba jud nga moingon ka og ingon ana kung tinood ka nga nakasabot sa biktima? Why would you opt to stand in middle if clearly ang mga na abuse are minors while ang nang abuse kay tiguwang na tawn. Nag pasexy pa ning mga biktima maong naabusaran sila? If ikay ginikanan, makahunahuna kaha kag pasaylo sa nagpanamastamas sa imong anak while ang nakasala naglaroylaroy? What tagle did in this article only shows he can play a little politics. Forgive me, but that is what ihonestly think. iF the late pope john paul 2 chose to forgive ( but not forget) his assasin, it was his call & if logic will tell you (or if you were in his possition), you would have done what he also did as head of the church. As head of the church or any religous group you would always try to show compassion sa mga nakasala nimo. That is expected.

I guess its clearer to me now why he said what he said in the article. It is all about church politics & good PR. If we really care about the victim, then those priests nga nakasala should not be protected by reassigning them. Dapat ilang atubangon ang kaso sa corte. The church can give them legal cousel but they should never show that they are taking sides (which clearly they are). What i am really hoping for is to hear what is Cardinal Tagle's stand on priests who commited or even accused on sexual charges. Wa man sad na gimention sa article bai.

oi, come to think of it...sos feb/march paman diay ning article.. Para nako, naa ni sa good pr & politics nga panahon. Wa pa si pope francis..paaboton nalng nato unsay mando jud ni Pope francis ani. Dapat naman diay ning kalimtan ang gisulti ni cardinal tagle.

We don't know what really happened,
and the priest had full rights also to defend his side,
accusations are just accusations if proven otherwise,
if they are culpable then they should put them on jail, I think
no distance whatsoever could deter justice.

When I read what he said in the article, I can relate it to Pope John Paul II and his assassin. Pope John Paul II forgave his assassin but the man was still incarcerated.

Wala ni ingon si Tagle na dili ipapreso ang mga ng abuso. Basaha palihug ug tarong ang whole article.
He is thinking about the lynch mob mentality too far ahead. What's his basis? Here in the Philippines, rarely is the case where people go and attack and the ACCUSED clergy for fear of divine retribution that these same guys spout.

I think monroy said it best that he opened himself to any possible conclusion. He should have been extra clear in the first place. He knows how important this issue is, doesn't he? So why open himself to possible misunderstanding?

Another point I'd like to bring up, if he indeed is sincere in what he said, why doesn't he and the RCC in general help find closure by bringing the case to the proper authorities? What did they do to the offending priests? Didn't they just hid them and transferred them to the provinces?!?

Is another istoryan here right when he said this was for PR?

@Eve's Apple Project: PR? PR that he stands against sexual abuse? Or that he protects the abusers to protect the image of the Church? I don't think it's the latter. If that was the case he should have been in the dirty dozen list instead of the preferred two Cardinals.
And he's using a pastoral approach on the issue thus it made me recall of what JPII did with his assassin.

@redemption32: I am not going to deny that there are a few bad apples in the church that do those things but in the case of Tagle, who is the topic in this thread, I haven't heard that he has done such a thing.

I do understand your arguments but I also have my own opinion on this issue. No hard feelings. Good night and God bless!

Sure. No hard feelings. Only priests have "hard" feelings when they touch little boys and girls.

Bitaw. Just can't resist. Let's call it pre-dawn mean streak. Hehe

    Well true pedophiles explicitly know
how it felt. If only men are apples, then it's quite easy
    to choose the good ones.

and I don't mean the priests.
