I dont just form conclusion based on net or elsewhere - facts are not all facts. I dont even think that the death of former President Ramon Magsaysay is an accident, but thats another story. (sorry, but sometimes I think some Conspiracy Theories)

I ACCEPT the Presidents statements during the abs cbn's anniversary - I like it that much! I did not vote for this guy but I loved what he has said during this event. Reactions to this topic is always a two sided coin, its either you will be the head or the tail.

ABS CBN should accept it and what matters now is how they react to it.

Is this really his duty? For someone who has a way of articulating positive arguments regarding the way the president works, this is kinda shallow.

Wouldn't it be better if the president sat down and worked towards improving the conditions (economic and political) in the country SO THAT the citizens will love him and consequently feel better about their country? That way the 'psyche' as you described is achieved?

Negativism is a result of what someone sees 'on the ground' and not from sugar coated speeches or scathing but misplaced frankness. It comes from what is seen in the whole picture and not just from a barrel vision focused at a news reader, an ex-president, a chief justice or whoever is perceived as an enemy.

Your positivism is merely a state of mind that may only last for so long.

Thank you. Like everyone else, I do want our country to move on and improve. If one is being critical about the way things are unfolding, the events should be seen against the wider picture and not just on personalities.

I totally agree with this. Mao jud ni akong na-appreciate sa panahon ni Noli as VP. Mao nang daghan na karon ang low-cost housing and subdivisions and daghan na nakabalay ug arang2x ky tungod sa iyang program/project. No one in particular BUT Noli de Castro, whom he didn't even name but was very specific in making sure everyone knows whom he was referring to. Then again, my point is, he would've been more 'presidential' if he didn't do what he did in such a very positive celebration. He in fact made a positive celebration negative with his remarks - so who's being negative now?

Like I said, he should have just built up a case against de Castro and pursued this in the right venue which is the courts of law.

For me, i think PNoy could have issued that statement on the proper forum. Perhaps during the Press Freedom Week not on somebody's supposed to be happy moments. It's like you're invited on a birthday party and you scolded the birthday celebrant infront of everybody. Just imagine your dad doing that to you. It's just totally immature and uneducated gesture.
