There is no right or wrong answer to her question. It was a matter of how well you are able to convey your message. She was just too overwhelmed that she got to that point of the pageant. I believe she gave it her best though, she gave an honest answer from the heart. She's a fighter and positive person who will always look at the good side of every problem that she encounters in her life. Basing from her background, she did not get by with just a breeze. She struggled as many people tried to pull her down. She has gone through a lot, yet despite those controversies she was there standing in front of the world as one of the Top 5 candidates of Ms.Universe2010! The problem was the judges do not know of this, that was probably why they gave her a low score on the q&a. Sad to say, she sounded like a bimbo who needed an excuse to give an answer.. Another thing that hits me is that, she seemed as if she was not coached well. Don't they get some sort of training and preparation for this stuff? Somebody should have educated her with her word usage --- 'Sir?' And when she was thanking them for the 'wonderful question', for me this sounded so lame. I would say she made it through the pageant on her own efforts, it makes me think, is it because of her economic status that she was not given that much attention and support before the Ms.Universe2010 pageant? Even up to this time, though she came in as 4th runner up, people only focus on her flaws. Why can't we be as positive as her? Maybe then we could have our own success. Venus Raj, well done! I'm proud of you. Congratulations!
Miss Philippines' Question: "What was the biggest mistake that happened in your life and what have you done to correct it?"
Mendoza's poster: "Big mistake to correct a big wrong decision."

Karon pa ko kabantay all about major major MISTAKE man diay ang na-uso these past few days.
I'd love to name a few but considering how many infractions I'd get when MODS would start investigating this thread, I'd rather not. It's tempting though. ^_^ Can we stop circling around my opinion of who's an idiot and who's not? I'm pretty sure your kind of idiots are quite different from mine since the very fact that you are opposing to my opinions is evidence enough.
If you got ticked off with what I had posted, then I'm sorry. But hey, I never said I created this thread to argue about how one can be considered an idiot or about how ethnocentric and stereotypical I am. Let me be. Post whatever you want in this thread...just learn to respect each other's opinions.
Personal experience and observations. I proved it to myself. I didn't say I proved it to the whole wide universe, Sir. O_O Wow...one thread and I've got 3 titles already: ethnocentric, stereotypical and a racist. ^_^
Can we just mind each other's opinions about the matter? What good will you get from scrutinizing my views about this topic? None. So please, stick with the topic and if you've got nothing more to say about it then at least respect my thread.
Please? ^_^
LOL... Gloria diaz knows how to speak good english actually... she dont know how to speak good tagolg though.. she came from the i think ilocos region...
natives in the mountain region of luzon like baguio speak english... kita namo ug nak bahag na maayo mag english then wala kahuman ug college?
I don't really know her that well but based on how I've seen her speak English in a lot of shows, events and interviews (like the recent one she had with ABS-CBN), I must say that she wasn't as "good" as you say she is. Then again, my "good" is different from yours.
Thanks for sharing.
