Though I would not say that there are people who went Straight Edge to be cool but you can't also say all. It's like catching a Filipino stealing in the US and branding ALL Filipinos as thieves. (:

If this thread tells us nga straight edge was born from or is based on sa mga punk, aw that would be a BIG LIE and that's what people here dislike. Ang pagpakabuhi sa limpyo wala magsugod tungod lang sa music but sa individual nga pagkatawo in itself. How about those people in the history books like the bible whom fed on veges nya way casual ***, drugs, inom ug uban bang mga butang nga dili angay, did they also listen to punk when punk wasn't born yet?

Just like what melvenb said, mugnamugna ra na sa tawong nakahunahuna ug una ana. Simple idea in science lang, ang name sa usa ka butang is named after or it's the choice of the person nga nakapapatent ana usa ka butang even though that thing/substance/etc has been there since the beginning of time.

the word straight edge came from punk rock, the lifestyle of straight edge naay daghan similarity, u can be drugfree but not call urself straight. for all you c***s**kers, straight edge means, you support the hardcore/punk community, you support the music and it's causes, you support the lifestlye, the 3 basic rules,. so if ur asking, i dont' have any vices, can i call my self straight-edge?
