The title itself says that it handles "document" but far from what I've read on their system it handles source code (programs) it even “implement”:

5.  Implement the program and test; and

Which I really don’t know, how to achieved this, considering that it is “Web-Based” the word “implement” is ambiguous for me, there’s a lot of ways to implement and I’m trying to figure out why they think that this can be “implemented” somewhere in the system or another? (confuse) hehehe… or maybe they want to “Implement their proposed system” considering that this is still a “proposal”.

The rest… I can’t say that this properly place in “Specific Objectives” or maybe it would be better that they make it a paragraph regarding their Objectivesbut how can this made successful? When there’s no brief “Statement of the Problem”

Statement of the problem
This study aims to develop a web-based retrieval system for computer programming documents.

I’m encouraging ycole to change this… changed this into something that made you think why you have to make this project or proposed this to your university.

If I were the CEO being asked decision whether to precede the project, I will directly see the “Statement of the problem” I want to identify how these developers see the reality and why they want to make this kind of technology… and then I will go through the “Objectives” I want to know if they set some goals, I want to know how they will provide and deliver solutions mentioned in their “statement of the problem” and lastly, “Scope and Delimitation”… or I say, I will focus in “Delimitation” (fixing all the limits faced by the existing technology). Something that you do some enhancement or upgrades….

@ycole, strongly avoid the words or statement like “file size must not exceed to 5 mb”, “only..bla.bla..bla”

but instead do some rephrasing..

like

“Efficiently allows the user to…bla..bla..bla..”,
“The system is capable to upload 5MB or 5120KB file size”

Again, this just an example, I don’t even know why only 5MB? (Although it is really quite big when we talked about source code, but when we talk about “Document” it’s pretty small…) and there’s a lot of ways already how to upload huge file size, chunking them into byte size… like xreadlines(buf=<size>) in common programming terms…

Anyway, I’m just trying to tell ycole to consider rephrasing… and closely think how to achieve such goals…

Like: “users with documents not related to computer programming will be suspended”

This is out of scope already, this concern on the admin rights and not on the system… maybe we can rephrase this into like:


“The System strongly capable of handling different Administrative operations:

1. Allowing administrators to suspend users from violating the rules & regulation imposed by the system or stated in Terms/Agreement during registration process”
…
…
“


this is just some of my comments, though its not important I guess... just an extra sleepless nights for ycole hehehehe...

This will inspire ycole to perservere further on her projects, who knows, someday she might be working behind bryan while setting bisde me hahahahahahaha jokes.... ^_^

i suggest to save the revised document, and then the users/researcher can still retrieve the original document. There will be a tracking of different revisions with author name/date of revision/et etc.
The purpose of the revision tracking is to preserve the authors original document. I have this kind of application based on the virtual library with rack positioning.
