Nice plan bro. I wonder how you would recreate those grayish corners. some fine spray nozzle maybe? Then probably add some fuel and oil smears effect somewhere along the area of the engine exhaust.

I got busy at work in the past couple of days so wala pa nako mapadayon ang project. Yesterday however, I received the package for my Combat Digital Video Recording (C.DVR) upgrade plan. See photo below.
It says in the unit specs that the camera is 5MP CMOS camera capable of recording at 720p resolution. Stores the video to the microSD which it says that the unit can support up to 8GB card.
So the plan is to separate the camera module from the main board. Then the switches. Oh, yeah. Switches again! I also need to find a place for the microSD where I can easily access it without opening the unit. Or, because the unit comes with USB connector, and if ako iconnect sa PC, Ican see the DVR as a storage device, I am thinking that I will fix the SD with the main board inside the unit then port out the USB instead. If ingon ani nga set-up, this will be the biggest USB flash drive that I will ever had!
As for the power, I will remove that small battery pack, and directly connect the DVR to the tank main battery through a step down circuit. Bottomless power!
The electronics side may not be as challenging as finding a nice place for the camera. Discrete that it will blend with the tank and at the same time, get the feeling that you are watching the video from the gunner's perspective.
Murag taas taas ni nga planning. Too many variables. I don't want to grind things up and opps...not there. I'm open to suggestions in case you guys have something to recommend.
i'll pre-shade it with dark green paint using an airbrush then color the tank with a early russian armor light green paint...still using an airbrush. actually, i'm the one who painted the 1/35 scale, so hopefully, it is easier to replicate the procedure in 1/16th. it's just that you need more paint. hahaha.
@ tamblot: you're planning in putting up an onboard camera on your tank bai?
That's the plan bro but this one is for video recording only. I am planning to install real-time camera system nya ang monitor sa controller but I still cannot find a set-up with a small camera that can fit the tank. I have installed one sa ako 1:6 Humvee but the the wireless camera is too big for the tank.
yep, i think it's a complicated modification. what i did before, just for fun's sake, is to tape my digicam to the turret and record it while the tank is running and firing the main gun. lingaw ra sad. but it is not real time like what some guys in germany did when they are doing battle sim.
I'll deviate a bit from the topic and share one of the battle tank destroyers. This is my 1:5 M966 HMMWV TOW Missile Carrier. I named her Deva. Short of Devastator. The TOW (Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire command-link guided) Missile are used to defeat armored vehicles and enclosed urban threats. When mounted on HMMWV aka Humvee, this weapon system can easily be deployed in combat zone, engage armored vehicles and exfil themselves fast. My Deva is electric motor driven and runs on 12V sealed lead acid battery.
Size with reference to Pepsi in can.
Front Underchassis and suspension.
Rear Underchassis and suspension.
^nice humvee you got there bro. if that is motor driven, so assume it is radio controlled.
Radio controlled lang gyapon bro. Preliminary modification is mounting of wireless camera system at the driver's location.
Shown below with my CO's rock crawler.
And here are some screen capture of the video taken by the wireless monitor at my controller.
The camera transmits through wireless to the 4" display. The monitor has recording capability to a microSD card..
These were recorded during one of the night partrols. The camera switches from IR to normal camera depending on the ambient light. The effect, its like the driver has Night Vision Goggles on during night patrol.
I plan to implement the same sa ako project red spear.
