    @soggy, i must confess you're right there, when i was in the hobby in cebu the only place that was decent enough was aquarium world near capitol, but then it closed
    heck you could even order a shark here for a few thousand dollars provided you have the set-up for it, hehe

    so you mean you actually brought some plant bulbs all the way from the states to there? what happened, did they turn out ok? i mean did they grow?

    im not sure that these are freshwater fiddler crabs though, i think that they can just survive in freshwater but ideally they should be in brackish water, so far they're doing just fine in fresh, the important thing is that they have access to dry land every once in a while (not possible in my aquarium set-up so one of the reasons why i had to move them)

    @DuBcity
    im not an expert but i think you shud pay attention to the wavelengths those violet LEDs put out, maybe theyre not right for your corals or some of the fishes? i read somewhere that marine creatures, specially corals can be very sensitive and picky about lighting, but lyk i sed im no expert so maybe you should chek with someone else who knows more or you can read up on it.

    I got the bulb pack at 3.99 USD and brought it back here. Its the assorted dried bulbs pack at petsmart composed of Aponogetons and lotus (lotii cactus = cacti ) The aponogetons grew well, became dormant and slowly faded after resprouting a few times (no c02 and low light but they were quite gorgeous esp A.undulatus). As to the lotus bulbs in the packet, they numbered about 6, only two grew, one red tiger and one green tiger. Im currently having problems with the lotii and their floating leaves covering the surface.

    @DubCity,
    Seawater imo gigamit or seasalt mix?
    U planning to use actinic lights for ur setup? I think you only need them if you are going to grow corals.

    @Zerk,
    Kita ko anang red crabs. Im just cautious kay the people there will sell you marine fishes and tell you theyll do fine in freshwater. Or that african ciclids will go together with veiltail guppies.

    went to whitegold ganiha to buy an aquarium heater for the icks. saw some cheap plants... different kinds of swords

    and something that resembles this

    http://plantgeek.net/plant-185.htm

    darn, impulse buying.. high difficulty and high light. oh well, 20 pesos ra man nuon.

    Swords ra naa didto @Zerk? At prices whitegold is offering, even if I know mamatay ang tanom, i still buy on impulse.
    Usually if whitegold stocks plants theyre always either swords, cabomba, bacopa, vallisneria or some semi-aquatic plant. Its rare that they have rotala.

    When i get ick, i just leave it alone, usually it goes away on its own. I rarely get dead fish unless the fish is weakened to begin with. Pero with cardinals, I doubt anyone will take the risk.

    There was an article i read where excessive water filtration can rid the tank of free swimming ick pero 1 micron pud na filter media. And that excessive water current aimed at the gravel bed can prevent the tomites (the "eggs") from sticking and die eventually.

    what do you mean dakpon? illegal diay ang mag reef set-up? why is that? is it coz of the corals? pila man sad kha ang magasto sa reef set-up? i know thats a difficult question to answer but just like an estimate
    and by the way, i only commented on the LED's coz on the pic u posted i thought i saw u had some corals there, but on closer inspection i saw that it was just your background paper, hehehe it looked quite realistic though at least from the pic.
