Arroyo rushed to VMMC | ABS-CBN News
MANILA, Philippines – Former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was brought to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) on Thursday night, her spokeswoman said.
Her spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn said Arroyo felt pain in her back after she had dinner Thursday night.
Initial medical examination result revealed that Arroyo experienced "acute cervical and lumbar pain," Bautista-Horn said.
Arroyo was advised to have complete bed rest.
She remains confined at the VMMC, where she stayed for more than seven months under hospital arrest due to election sabotage charges.
She had been confined at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City before she was moved to the government-run hospital.
The former president is out on bail after her petition was approved by Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 Jesus Mupas.
