This drunkenness in power leads to the feeling of almost-invincibility, i.e., you can get away with anything as you have the money and the power and the “Gloria”.

Ex-FG and GMA have manipulated the "personalities" behind the law-to stone wall their defense -very strategic move. Hence, they had created this “false feeling” of confidence that whenever there is an issue against them - they always replied - "file-case and prove in court". Because they believe the "court-personnel" are already part of their (dark-knight) black-pieces(in a game of chess).

It is written - HE WHO LIVES BY THE SWORD SHALL DIE BY THE SWORD. Likewise, he who lives (by exploiting) by the law shall die by the law. Now, they shall suffer AND be humiliated-harassed-condemned by the "law" and not even death can protect them from the "law" - humiliation will continue after death-till grandchildren.

Suicide option - cannot protect them just like that of Gen. Reyes who couldn't stand the agony of defeat and humiliation.
