Riley honored
Although the NBA has not made the announcement of its official NBA Executive of the Year, Miami Heat President Pat Riley has been named NBA Executive of the Year by The Sporting News.
While The Sporting News previously had presented the official league award, that now is a separate honor. In a poll of 37 NBA team executives, Riley received 14 votes, beating out Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Foreman, who received 11 votes.
Riley spearheaded the Heat’s efforts to sign Wade, James and Bosh during last summer’s free-agency period.
