There are also some digital watermarks that are encoded into the image and comes out when viewed with a special program. Basically something to deter people from "stealing" your work.

hidden paradise of the red planet

background was a shot somewhere near Toledo and broken into three layers (foliage, rock, water) and played around with hue/saturation.

martian lass is from a model shoot last year and used hue/saturation to turn skin green after which I brought back the original color of her hair. then sampled her skin to create the pointy ear and antennae.

bubble made from a blue circle and then slowly erased the inner part with eraser tool with feathered edge.Â* then adjusted opacity and added a gradient layer over the bubble.

sun beam was made just by filling in a masked area with a gradient then gaussian blur.

no, I'm not an "adobe guru" and have not taken any formal lessons.Â* what I know is just from playing around with graphic programs... for ahem ahem years

instead of ellipses I think it's better to stick with circles

increasingly smaller going in and each nudged off center

then try playing around with gaussian blur and opacity

 - needs alot more practice! Â*don't worry about technicalities like exact colors or opacity levels. Â*come up with the image in your mind and then lay down the shapes, colors, and tweak settings until what's on screen matches with what's in your head oh yeah, and remember to save your work often
