Of course it adds to the pain of the accuser. But we are not talking about that. We are talking about the ACCUSED!

That's why the Church does not want media attention. They may not always be the best people to look for the truth but at least they can put pressure on the authorities to pursue the truth. And they claim that they just want to protect the accusers! Get real! They want to protect their asses!

If they truly care for the abused, they should teach their priests not to play with other people's genitals!

Anyway, no, that's not what Tagle's statement is all about. Before one puts pressure on the authorities there must be evidence. Your point only relates to as one sided and bias outlook . You will end up being a STEREOTYPE in that approach .

Dont make it look like the RCC does not take care of the abuse allegedly thrown at the victims . Isnt it so ironic ? We have ALLEGED MOLESTERS but we do have VICTIMS ... should it be ALLEGED VICTIMS too ?

If the media is not the best people to look for then why settle for less ? Do you really think that because kintahay gi hilom ni sa media .... no INVESTIGATION was going on and JUSTICE is not served ? Dont make the media a scapegoat for the excuse of how lame the justice system is when the church are the ones involved.

I'm not making the media as scapegoat. I'm not singling out the media to be blamed, as the definition of "scapegoat" is. I'm actually heralding the media's role in searching for the truth!

The media is not the best people to look for the truth but I appreciate their role on applying pressure to authorities who look for the truth. This is not a jab at the justice and legal system as well.

Taking legal action is not a form of revenge, but a form of justice. As Springfield said, Tagle never said people shouldn't take revenge. However, when he said taking legal action causes pain to the accused and the victim, he wasn't being clear. He left the conclusion out. What about the pain caused by seeing a criminal walk free? He should have talked about that. Or at least made a stand.

It causes pain to the accused and the victim, so then what?

Let the victim and accused fight it out in court?
Let the victim and accused kiss and make up?

He didn't say so he opened himself up to differing interpretations based on assumptions.

These are the same people who make little things so big. For example, the s3x education. It is for the better understanding of ourselves and how to prevent early pregnancy. Main word "Prevent". S3x education does not teach kids abortion.

But....

If sila na gani ma-igo, especially heinous crimes like this, they just ask the public to "forgive".. Geez... Nothing but BS...

haha.. wa ra ma late. Anyway, he also has a point about that because sometimes people have this lynch mob mentality and it can go out of hand. But I am not saying that the accusers should not go to jail if proven guilty. In the whole article he even stated that "you do not hide the problem."
When I read what he said in the article, I can relate it to Pope John Paul II and his assassin. Pope John Paul II forgave his assassin but the man was still incarcerated.
