    tekboy,inspectporronana,sirv, please help me.

Other say mas dako pa ang losses sa mga nag trade everyday kaysa sa mga nag kapot or nag long term sa ilang mga stock... Pero kailangan nimo e study gyud maayo ang profile & news uodate or future ng company.. before u buy para sa long term (year) investment... Sometimes u dont need that chart reading kung long term target mo.. but not all ...

    rgmoldez,

buy low sell high, its just one of the many strategies that exist...

    there are:

    * buy high, sell higher... being momentum investing strategy as one of them...
    * buy high sell low... yes u can profit through by shorting the stock... which isnt available in pse the last time i checked

there are lots of strategies these days that my advice is study most of them or all of them if thats possible and stick to the methods that fit to your personality.

If you prefer to have long term strategies, I discovered one method that i succesfully paper traded... the method requires you to only pick you 5 stocks and hold them one year. But dont think of its a huge gain, slow methods also means slow gains(usually), but less volatility....

you can also try to money managing methods...

    for example...

50% of you money is on slow method... slow gains less risk...
30% on medium risk higher gain
20% very risky but if it hits... its like jackpot... (done usually with margins)

rgmoldez: Ok ra ba if 1 year before ka mag sell sa stock?

To answer this one, you'll need some guidance
    - from numbers. See if the stock is strongly correlated to the main Index. If the index is bullishly trending upwards then you should be
ok. But never take your eyes off these numbers coz global markets have a strong influence on our market. See the May 11, 2006 (Gold slump) & Feb 27,2007 (China downturn) where we quickly lost 20 & 12%. I Survived the 1st with all my capital in tact and gained spectacularly during the 2nd when I liquidated a week before the slump after taking heed of some technical indicators then bought back all stocks sold at the original acquisition price.
    - annual growth (stock price, Earnings per share etc)
    - Future prospects of the company (new projects, acquisitions etc)

Note that certain stock (e.g. URC- universal robina , ISM) did not even have significant gains after a year while some outperformed these stocks in merely a week or 2 (e.g. ATlas P7-P20, PAX, HLCM etc ...even GEO)

If you can not watch over your stocks, you might be better off handing over your excess cash to mutual fund managers. They can give you approximately 8-11% annual gains (marked to market).

rgmoldez: ang gains balor 50, 30 or 300....ok ra ba ingon ini nga gains?

Depends on your trading plan. Although some would opt for a certain % gain or loss (3-6%), some would rather look at the absolute gains per trade regardless of % (ex. 5K for a 15k investment or 50k for 1M investment).

In my case, I'm more of a position/swing trader. Buying stocks at its quitest and unloads when market becomes irrational & greedy.

Again, it all depends on your strategy & appetite for risk.
