Not really a gem, it's the Aether. It's the movie version of the Infinity Gems, one is the Tesseract. We are still to see 4 more of the Infinity Stones. They gave it to The Collector for safekeeping since Asgard is already keeping one, which is the Tesseract. They just don't know that The Collector has other plans for it.

Zachary Levi's addition to the movie was very meh. Josh Dallas was more Fandral-ish. Levi looked like a roughed up Robin Hood. Lastly, Fandral was supposed to be a lady's man, Levi did not look like it in the pub scene.

wish Malekith had more going for him. anyway, good movie. I had a fun time thanks to Loki just being super awesome. Tom Hiddleston as Loki is definitely the top two or three best comic book movie castings of all time. tied with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, and behind the greatest of all time, Heath Ledger as the Joker. I'd personally put Tom at number two ahead of RDJ. he's just so charismatic and so suave. and a really fine actor. he hardly tried in this movie, but damn was he fantastic.
