But guess what, during the time of Marcos, we export rice, we are self sufficient in rice, Php 2 = $ 1, no rule of the oligarchs, everybody has a strong purchasing power.
The only thing I hated was, people were deprived of freedom.
If that could've been balanced. But heck, life during Marcos' time was comfy because people was unable to experience hunger. People can afford to buy food, and I mean, ordinary people.
But when Cory became president, she wasn't even competent to lead the country. She has no experience in politics and prior to her becoming the president she was just a plain housewife.
Yes the Philippines has achieved freedom during Cory's time, but in exchange of freedom?
PHP 20 - 30 = $ 1, the rise of poverty, the rule of the oligarchs, the manipulative media, the eternal suffering of the poor.
After 25 years, it got worse!
mangutana ko bah, were you already of legal age during the time of marcos?
I tell you sa ako nabasahan sa ako graduate studies:
1) Php 2 = $ 1
2) people were deprived of freedom.
Please link those two. People were treated as slaves. Martial Law was declared and people were not allowed to protest sa mga streets. As a result people were not allowed to hold WAGE HIKES. This is one of the reason why an influx of american investors happened in this era. Mao ni ang rason daghan kaayo $$$ gasulod sa pilipinas mao na barato ra kaayo ang $$$ saona. THE INVESTORS WANTED SLAVES AS EMPLOYEES, NOT REGULAR WORKERS.
