Try getting into this...You hire an architect to design a house for you. Many days after, he comes back to show his design. You want some things altered, then still many days pass before he comes back again. You can't contact him anytime you want. He gets back at you days after. He shows up when he wants. At that rate, you can have your house after years of waiting.
Both of you and your architect should set specific date and time when you will meet for him/her to show you his/her designs. We can't dedicated all of our time to a single project kay mahibilin rasad ang uban.

This is not my situation. I just got asked the same question i asked.
I understand the Architect's side since most of the time you are handling multiple projects. Considering that, the client here allows the architect to set the date/time, but he doesn't always show up. The client can not also dedicate all his patience for this one architect.

    Thanks for the inputs.

If we bound ourselves to the idea that only those with big connections can succeed in architecture, we may end up forsaking the profession..

Most architects in here (even the famous ones) are not paid based on the "supposedly standard rates" of what architects should get. In writing, being an architect is a noble profession with decent pay. In reality (Philippine Setting), you'd get lucky if your client pays half of what you're supposed to get.
I agree on that. but now they are not called draftsmen anymore, they are called autocad operators during this modern age. but still they are under estimated. but for me its a noble profession.
