Faster than most people would have anticipated airstrikes against Gadhafi's air-defence systems have now begun with a report already in of a French Fighter jet attacking a Libyan vehicle. Tomahawk / cruise missiles have also been launched at targets in Western Libya from an American warship and a British submarine.
The use of force was sanctioned by the UN and active participants are United States, France, Britain, Canada and Italy.
Seems the US is the junior guy in this op--and rightfully so. Most of Libya's oil goes to Europe, so it only makes sense for France, Italy and Britain to take action on the matter.
here is your answer....maybe...YouTube - NEW WAR! U.N. AUTHORIZES BOMBING OF LIBYA
maynta mao ni mag-sugod sa world war III, para na ko'y e-storya sa akong apo, hehehehehehe
jowk ra bitaw,...
hmmmm, ni abstain baya ang germany, china ug russia, nganu kaha ni abstain ni sila
China and Russia could each have exercised their option for a veto. But the western bullies would have attacked anyway.
China - For obvious reasons the most important being that similar to Libya, China is ruled by an elite few who will not think twice about using force against its own people should it feel threatened. Tiananmen Square is a perfect example.
Russia - Libyan oil is in direct competition with Russian oil. Russia is the main reason Europe does not freeze up during winters.
Germany - Oil from Russia passes through Germany before it reaches France and the UK. Merkel and Germany is Russia's best friend in the Euro after patching up on some recent differences. The UK and France like Germany, are economies that rely heavily on exports and compete heavily with each other for market share. Potential additional supplies from Libya will be to the benefit of British and French industries.
Iraq started going down the drain the moment the US decided to remove Saddam. Saddam and his iron hand policies were the only thing keeping Iraq from falling apart. Now look at the cesspool that once used to be the richest country in the Middle East.
The USA could have hung the greatest Japanese war criminal of them all but chose not to in the name of stability.
I don't believe for one moment that the no-fly zone endeavor would have gone ahead had there been vetos. The USA has not pushed this action and great care has been taken to follow UN protocol. The respectful approach of the current US administration has paid off, Russia and China are playing ball instead of blocking the initiatives of US and close allies. These are interesting times and the UN is beginning to function as it should thanks to warming East/West relations and a broad desire to see stability in this age of economic inter-reliance.
china and russia abstain from voting does not mean na against cla sa attack...
if they are against the strike, then they should have exercised thier veto.
another iraq na sad ni if magpagahi si gaddafi...it might create a turmoil in leading socialist nations.
