In my opinion? That wife is no better than a dog. We like to think of ourselves as "civilized" human beings, but that display is definitely animalistic.

Rabies is caused by a virus--i.e. it's an external cause. That wife is not a "rabid" dog in this analogy--she is just acting how a normal female dog would act in such a circumstance. Ergo, she has the mind of a dog. Best proof of this? She ended up marrying a dog.
