Joseph Yeo and Coke's 2009 second round pick were acquired by Sta. Lucia in exchange for Cesar Catli and Mark Isip..the entry of Isip at Coca-Cola have strengthened their undersized frontcourt, this could also be Isip's career break kay magamit jus siya sa Coke rotation which is wanting of big men, at least Misolas can now play his natural 3 spotOriginally Posted by digitalsuperman
This is a good one especially for Joseph Yeo. With promising rookie Ryan Reyes and well established PBA star Kelly Williams along with him, Sta. Lucia is perfect for Joseph Yeo especially with how he plays. I'd expect a lot of run and gun from Sta. Lucia this season especially from the Reyes-Yeo-Williams combo.
As for Mark Isip, Coca-Cola can groom him to be it's next top big man. Ali Peek has been struggling with injuries lately and badly needs a reliable back-up.
Joseph Yeo and Paolo Mendoza will be sharing offguard duties for Sta. Lucia, this makes the Sta. Lucia team 2-deep at every position:
C 6-9 Marlou Aquino/6-6 Dennis Espino/6-5 Melvin Mamaclay/6-7 Philip Butel
PF 6-5 Kelly Williams/6-6 Dennis Espino
SF 6-3 Bitoy Omolon/6-3 Norman Gonzales
SG 6-0 Joseph Yeo/6-0 Paolo Mendoza
PG 6-1 Ryan Reyes/6-0 Denok Miranda/ 5-10 Ronnie Bughao
Coca-Cola welcomes the addition of versatile big man Mark Isip and his 6-4 frame..Coke's frontcourt now counts on the injury-prone Ali Peek, the ging Mark Telan, role-playing Ervi Sotto, sweet-shooting Ricky Calimag and the young and promising Mark Isip

Purefoods
Paul Artadi wants out of Purefoods. Artadi's contract will be expiring on September 15 and reports say that it's he himself who made talks to the management that he wants out of the team. According to a close friend of Artadi, the cause has been his very limited minutes and feels that Purefoods has no more use for him. Roger Yap and Peter June Simon are the preferred point guards to use by coach Ryan Gregorio. To add further for Artadi's concerns, Purefoods has re-signed veteran guard Noy Castillo for another year.
Belasco for Artadi? Hmm.. Welcoat prefers younger players whom they can build their future with. Artadi + Wainwright + Reyes + DeVance.
In their preseason game, Purefoods defeated the short-handed Ginebra 97-87. RP Team members James Yap and Kerby Raymundo led Purefoods with 22 points and 19 points respectively. Ginebra played without Fil-Ams Eric Menk, Rafi Reavis, Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand.
Talk N' Text
The return of Asi Taulava, Jimmy Alapag and Renren Ritualo and the sudden emergence of Mark Cardona and Jay Washington might not just be all for what Talk N' Text will be offering in the PBA's 33rd season. Talk N' Text, known for it's explosiveness, will turn their attention and game into defense and learn from no less than the recent NBA champions the San Antonio Spurs. Talk N' Text coach Derrick Pumaren is a friend of Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and director of pro player personnel Dell Demps, who once played as an import in the PBA for 7-Up in 1992 coached by Pumaren, and that's why they were able to make arrangements. Mike Buldenhozer, Spurs' lead assistant, defensive coach Don Newman and skills coach Brett Brown shared some ideas to the PhonePals.
Welcoat
Jojo Tangkay is set to return to Welcoat's line-up. Tangkay was sidelined for almost a year after suffering a knee injury. With Castillo re-signing with Purefoods, Welcoat still continues it bid for a reliable point guard and eyes Coca-Cola's Chris Pacana. Paul Artadi is also being eyed on by Welcoat after the reports came out that he wants out of the Chunkee Giants camp, a good way to get rid of the annoying Nic Belasco who asked for too much demands.
2006 PBA Best import Marquin Chandler led the KT&G of Korea over the Welcoat Dragons 94-91 at the PBA preseason games. Chandler finished with team high 32 points and was the guest team's hero who delivered much in the second half after being silent in the first half. Number 1 pick Joe DeVance scored game-high 35 points while Jay-R Reyes added 18 more for the Dragons. The performance was indeed a message from DeVance to the whole league a to what to expect from him. Too bad only DeVance and Reyes delivered well for Welcoat.
