Peeps:
you can call The Soil and Water Conservation Foundation, an environmental NGO, which is one of the consortium partners of this nature park. they can give you lots of info about the park and activities they conduct there. the number is 412-6909.
Yes, the place is really that picturesque. Unfortunately, it's a nature park intended solely for the conservation of the place's natural flora and fauna. So, the most human activities allowed there are educational tours and seminars, or team building activities that do not interfere much with nature.
But of course, there's always a silver lining somewherethere's news that the consortium will be developing the 2nd phase of the park, this time, dedicated for... YES, the usual park amenities most people look for, like camping grounds, swimming pool, horseback riding, overnight cottages, rappelling, slide (for life), etc. The thing is, we don't know when. Initial info I got was that they'd have it by december... what year? duno

Kan-irag is a very nice place to do pre-nuptial pictorials! The pics below were taken last Aug when we went there. Unfortunately, dogs are NOT allowed inside the nature park. They have a sign there that states the park rules and regulations and we saw that pets are not allowed.
We politely asked permission if we could go in with our dogs since we drove all the way there to enjoy their place. (Although dili man gyud layo kaayo for us, because we already live in Busay). We asked why dogs were not allowed, and they said because of the flora and fauna inside. I go, "you mean naay wildlife diha?" Yes, birds daw. I told them my dogs are very obedient and trained...they will not make any trouble at all. (dili man ni sila mukat-kat ug tree). I said if they will make poo-poo, I will definitely clean the mess if they do.
I wish they would officially open Kan-Irag to welcome pets. It's such a BEAUTIFUL place. We enjoyed every minute of our leisure walk with our dogs. The weather was perfect and the breeze was ever so fresh. Dako ug potential ni nga lugar. We enjoyed reading the environmental facts and trivia that were spread along the park.
There are a lot of dog lovers here in Cebu and it would be great to have a place like this that both dogs and owners will enjoy. The entrance is P50. If you think about it, if they open Kan-irag to allow pets, there would be more people who could come here (thus more income for the owners...more funds to maintain the place). Activities and gatherings for pet lovers always brings a lot of people, because everyone is looking for a nice place. Perfect unta ni. Naa pud sila grassy and open areas. This is better than family park because daghan kaayo ug trees and the landscaping is very nice. Educational too!
I think its about time that Cebu would have more pet-friendly areas. I envy Manila because they have Eastwood, Tiendasittas, Serendra and other places where you can actually bring your dogs inside these posh malls or dine with you in the restaurant. The golden rule is scoop after they poop and that's being a responsible dog owner.![]()
Seeing dogs being walked by their owners, the whole family, by couples and kids is always a delight.
