A local cable channel (RCTV Channel 36) will showcase the works of SineBuano (Cebu's Independent Filmmakers Group). The first and pilot episode is slated to be shown on the second week of September.

Just to make things a little more relevant.

The Cebu Filmmakers Society is now known as SineBuano. This is an independent film group now with a contract with RCTV/Channel 36. SineBuano is composed mostly of members of iSTORYA.NET. In fact, its founding producer is this Forum's master, the gentleman we all call BeoR. But there is more to this effort than meets the eye.

Sooner, depending on our success with RCTV/Channel 36, SineBuano will be operating its cable channel facility with a footprint that covers the Visayas and Mindanao. This might yet signal the revival of the Cebuano/Visayan film industry which is the vision of SineBuano.

Without mincing words, we at the SineBuano need your support. Oh, yes, we appreciate your bringing us burgers while we are on a shoot. But more than this, we need your viewership of our effort and some good words where you see them fit. We are also open to criticism if only to improve our ways with the production.

Our success is not only ours to feast on. It is also for the rest of the Cebuano/Visayan community to use as a medium with which we can tell the stories dear to our hearts.
