both are very capable lenses..1,8 is prime means your more constricted on your movements, but youll get more creative with your style,angles, and composition... get the tam 17 to 50 if you want to shoot wider angles and get to 50 and still get that 2.8. mas versatile ang 17-50. pero faster ang 1.8 and bokehs are more creamy.hehehe
