PACERS FIRE RICK CARLISLE
The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that Rick Carlisle will not return as head coach, but will have the option to return to the team in another capacity.
In four seasons as Pacers coach, Carlisle compiled a 181-147 record (.552 winning percentage). The Pacers made the NBA playoffs in three of the four seasons and reached the Eastern Conference Finals in Carlisle’s first year, 2003-04. That same season, the Pacers posted a 61-21 record, the best in franchise history. ---> msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6738466
Well, a lot of people have been expecting this since two weeks ago... the Pacers need maximum overhaul anyway and rebuilding is not out of the question. They have a few guys like who can deliver like Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Danny Granger as well as the promising big guys like Ike Diogu and David Harrison. Jermaine O' Neal and Jamaal Tinsley could become trade valuables if the Pacers indeed want to do the renovation... if they deal them anyway, it's going to be a hard restart for them plus the Hawks have their #11 pick this coming draft, which leads us to...
Atlanta Hawks owner Bernie Mullin says Woodson will return as head coach
Mullin said the Hawks' ownership group has not yet met in a "formal sit-down," but he said the message from the owners was that Woodson deserves another chance after enduring a season-long battle with injuries.
"Clearly they feel that a change in Mike Woodson's status at this point in time would be completely unfair," Mullin said. -->http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6693826
Hahay... it's torturing jud to be a Hawks fan these days. I know naglisud ang Hawks because of their the catastrophic injuries but, if only the owners are watching the games, they can see to it Woodson really needs to improve his decision-making when it comes to substitution at the right place, at the wrong time... I'm 30-60 glad and disappointed about this head coach thing, 60% disappointed because Hawks fans like me are going to suffer yet another losing season (i really hope they improve) and 30% glad na they didn't stated anything about General Manager Billy Knight's status, which, I think, means his days are numbered.
Well, 30 wins is not bad, it could've been worse... it's the number of wins that I was hoping for man sad before the start of the season. So, next season would be 35 wins... Darn it. What a terrible position I'm into. Hehehe.
As a Raptors fan, I feel your pain Lunateec. We were there too. Questionable drafts, and trades, an array of coaches.
The Hawks have a bunch of very talented players, i.e. Josh Smith,Childress, and Johnson. However, you do need a good point guard. And thats where the Hawks management made big mistake in the draft. They could have drafted Chris Paul, or even Deron Williams. Imagine any of these two PGs passing lobs to any of the Hawks very athletic 2s and 3s. Scary.
So, IMO, Billy Knight has to do better.
y man dili ma kick out si Billy Knight?!?
Yeah... the Raptors was in that situation lang for at least 4-5 years, which is an enough year for a team to rebuild. Meanwhile, the Hawks have been in that situation for EIGHT years already and has not shown any improvement with the way the team is handled. On those years, GM Glen Grunwald and Rob Babcock (a terrible GM when he was with the Hawks and he'll remain a terrible GM for eternity) wasn't able to sustain that much needed players until they were able to lure Mr. Brian Colangelo (THIS GUY CAN TURN ANY FRANCHISE AROUND).Originally Posted by Zoinks

Honestly? I don't have any information regarding that matter.Originally Posted by Archer sensAtion
