exactly kratos' point is dapat ang jobs nga available are those that fit the surplus of skills that our jobseekers have..unsaon man na ang availability sa jobs kung walay qualified motake on it?

EXACTLY! Our problem is not unemployment but SKILLS MISMATCH. This has been mentioned in any summit, forum, conference, etc. in our country time and time again.

CHED or DepEd must do something about this. NSAT scores SHOULD BE a determinant on what fields of study and individual can only take in college not just a mere benchmarking slash annual money-making thing for DepEd.

The problem with the system is that the agencies are very lax and the schools do not have a social responsibility and moral obligation.

" Hala bisan bogo pakuha-on ug medicine, ipa-graduate pa gyud total sa board exams ra bitaw na mag daug basta kami naka-kwarta na mi sa tuition for 8 years. "

Mao na daghan kaayo ta ug "professionals kuno" pero bugitz di'ay to. We always say that callcenter job ra man na but why on earth only a fraction of the Filipino college graduate can pass a job hiring exam for BPO companies?

    Sorry for the OT.

Going back to the topic, education and economic development should go hand in hand if we are to turn this country around and increase our GDP just like what Japan, Korea and Vietnam did which ironically they GOT FROM US.

There are skills mismatch that the government agency concerned is trying to resolve. Maybe it's wrong for us to follow the wrong trend. Remember when IT became the trend, a lot of aspirants wanted to take up IT courses. When nursing became the trend, nursing students are piling up in different schools and universities. But we don't know where we will be taken by such trend.

At the very least, the government is taking up precautionary measures.

the demand for the services is the biggest problem. gamay kaayo ang demand. dili man pwedi mag create og daghan kaayo og jobs ang goberno unya hinay au ang demand or walay klaro nga returns, ma bankrupt ang gorberno ana. maayo unta if naa pay gubat kay mu kusog ang demand just like what happened during world war 2. it solved the unemployment problem sa kalibutan which was caused by the great depression. so karon wala gyud tay choice kung dili makontento unsay naa if dili ka mang abroad.

you have a point there, ang kwalipikado as long as dili pilian naa jud work but ang kaluoy ang daghan kaayo surplus nga skills but walay demand..I suggest, we should make it easier for Pinoy entrepreneurs to enter the market sort of bridge the gap like what the internet did to small businesses with web presence

excuse me sir but this i think this is the wrong notion. dapat mag una ug tukod ug barko kay sa pasahero. if mao ni ang atong frame of mind, mag hinuwatay lang ang tawo ug gobyerno. the initiative SHOULD COME from the government. WHY? because they have bigger funds, power, means and leverage.

secondly, the government DID NOT create the current jobs now which are mostly BPO or PEZA companies it all came "naturally" being ang English speaking nation. it is not like it was a product of the governments efforts or initiative. moreover, these type of investments ARE NOT real national income which increases our total factor productivity because these are multi-national firms merely outsourcing or off-shoring their production for cheap labor.

and a BIG RESET of opportunities such as a war come once in a lifetime or is almost impossible in current times.

before you create a ship, there should be a study and there should be a demand. its commercial suicide if you build a ship with out a clear demand for it coz you will not know if there will be passengers for it. and you just cant build factories if there is a low demand for its products coz surely it will just go bankrupt. and i agree with you that the initiative should come from the government but with the cooperation of the people. they should choose leaders who are really fit for the office. also the government may had not created those bpo or peza but they were instruments coz they were the ones who invited those multinationals to invest in our country.
youre idea was once tested in during hilter's regime in germany before the war. germany tried to be self producing and created their own demand for their products. people in germany may have felt its good initial effects but hitler's chief economist is warning him of a super inflation that would be happening coz their funds are fast depleting and their products were not yet disposed. had the 2nd world war didnt happen, germany would economically be in total chaos.
there will be a big reset in our country if the us will attack us just like what they did to iraq. if many of our countryman will die, it will solve our problem of overpopulation. we might prosper after it coz unlike iraq, we have very few extremists.

correct! but all that the government is doing is talk and study. it was the private sector who made it all happen for this country even for BPO & PEZA companies. you are right, the government were just MERE instruments but even without their cooperation they cannot stop capitalism, commerce and industrialization because for the the fact that we are a english-speaking, DEMOCRATIC country.
