my maternal great grandma, a chinese catholic, was cast out from her family for marrying a protestant spanish mestizo. Their children was divided in their religion. She converted to baptist only towards the end of her life.

My maternal grandma is a protestant who married a free thinker who consider all religion as equal. He converted after 30 years of marriage. 6 out of 9 children are protestant, and one converted to islam while working in KSA.

My dad was a catholic, who was internally converted after attending a Billy Graham crusade. It was not difficult for him to change religion after he pursued my mom.

Why did she ask you to attend their church services? It is not to convert you, but so that you would know her better by also knowing what she believed in. Conversion is a personal choice, not just by undergoing certain rites or attending church services. Many faked conversion in their pursuit for a girl, and i don't suggest you do it.

If given the chance to advise the girl, i'd say, split up, but retain the friendship. Relationship with the Lord is far important than bf/gf. But i would tell her to continue inviting you to church.

There are many protestants out there who married non-protestants. "Amor vincit omnia". If neither one is converted to the other, it is a silent battle. Both are spiritually stagnant. This spiritual stagnancy is struggle of the many who are into interreligous relationships.
