Kasagaran reklamo kay sa pacing sa Watchmen nga hinay lagi kaayo nya mixed reviews pa gyud gikan sa mga critics nga kasagaran negative. But Roger Ebert gave Watchmen a perfect 4.
So excited lang gihapon ko.

And yeah. I thought Watchmen was really good. The pacing was not much of a problem for me. Maybe because I have seen a lot of movies that are really slow. And I thought you need to watch the movie more than once to get a good grasp of the subtle meanings and nuances. I liked it coz it's multi-layered and the pacing actually added sexiness and sleek and highly compliments the whole movie being that it involve time as a major theme. For someone living in the midst of a hinging doomsday clock, every second would definitely be memorable. And I thought the soundtrack was pretty interesting. The acting was kinda just OK. But the characters themselves were pretty well thought out already so it was still very good. And for comic fans, it was a really good condensation.

So, I think sa katong mga taw nga dili anad mutan-awg mga hinay nga salida plus di pud ganahan maghuna-huna samtang magtan-aw, siguro di gyud kaayo sila malingaw. But for cinephiles or cinemaniacs I think Watchmen is really worth checking out.

I liked it. But although it's based on the greatest superhero comic book of all time, I don't consider it to be a great superhero movie. I loved the book, and I've literally read it backwards (people who really know Watchmen know what I mean...) and I thought the movie worked despite the drastic change of the ending (anyway, I thought the ending in the book was silly anyway).

It had its flaws, like the casting of the one playing Laurie Jupiter/Silk Specter. I cringed every time she was in a scene. Terrilble acting. They should've gotten Carla Gugino to play the younger Silk Specter. But she redeemed herself in the scene on board Nite Owl's floating ship. You know the scene. The one where "Hallelujah" played in the background. I also didn't like the Nite Owl actor. Very awkward reading of the lines from the comic book. Reminded me of the acting in bad 1980's TV shows.

I also didn't care for the opening "murder" scene. I thought it was a waste of time. The movie should've started with the smiley badge, the boom, we're watching the story. No need to show the whole scene. There were lots of other scenes that were cut to give way to that scene.

LOOOOOVED the guy who played Rorschach, though. Very dead on. I loved him even when he didn't have his mask on. In prison, he was still a badass, and said one of the coolest lines in a prison scene ever (I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me') which Rorschach was only quoted as saying in the book, but I'm glad they fleshed it out.

LOOOOOOVED Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan. Loved his voice and totally forgot the dude was naked. Just thought it was a great performance.

And my favorite thing was the credits sequence, over the song "The Times the are a Changin" which I thought was brilliant. Managed to say over the course of a song what took pages and pages to say in the books.

Not the best superhero movie, though.

2. Incredibles, from Pixar
1. Unbreakable, M. Night Shyamalan. Just an awesome, awesome, awesome movie.

The graphic novel was filled with Classic Comic Book references (most notably from the Silver Age of the 1960's).

But did anyone notice that the film had a lot of very clever film references as well? And these references were giving out subtle little winks foreshadowing what was about to happen?

For example, I don't think that it was a coincidence when Ozymandias and Nite Owl are having a meeting at Veidt Tower, Ozymandias speaks while peering outside his glass window and we see him from the outside. It is raining, and the raindrops appear to us as tears falling from Ozy's eyes. Straight of IN COLD BLOOD. It's the director's way of saying "Ozy did it - IN COLD BLOOD."

And another scene, in Vietnam this time, with Dr. Manhattan and a couple of helicopters, quoting a scene from APOCALYPSE NOW. Again, a wink to the audience, foreshadowing what is to become of Dr. Manhattan.
