OT:
If you followed the rules down to the letter of your PTC and you were in the situation Ryan was in, you'd be dead. Only because you considered yourself a law abiding citizen and a responsible gun owner.
3.) The firearm shall not be brought inside public drinking and amusement places and all other commercial establishments
Back on topic:
It's not Ryan's fault he died. It's nobody's fault when they get killed doing something normal people would do. It's just something that happens but is in a lot of times probably preventable.
Stay away from men drinking with women around. Man's natural instinct is to not get humiliated in front of women. Sadly men have different perceptions about humiliation and the measures they take to redeem themselves usually do not end well.
May you rest in peace bro. I hope justice will prevail in the end of the day and those who are responsible shall be punished.

It's hard to blame the security guard if you really know what they go through.
First, being employed through agencies where the bidding for contracts is fierce, they end up earning less than the minimum.
Second, the odds are heavily stacked against their favor since the law considers him a more capable killing machine hence anything he does in the form of killing or injuring someone in the line of duty automatically creates the perception that he acted with an undue advantage.
Third he works alone without a buddy or a partner hence his first instinct is to save himself then his co-workers. People who have undergone combat training know that the main reason trained men are extraordinarily brave is because they do not want to let their unit down. All that talk about fighting for God, country, and principles all take second seat to a trained man's mentality that the well being of both health and name of the unit is paramount. As they say, shame is man's worse fear. Kang kinsa man siya mauwaw na he has always felt alone, owing allegiance to no one because it simply is not worth it.
Now if you were him and low na imong morale na daan, kasukol pa kaha ka?
