    Dealing with constantine regarding this issue would mean stepping down to HIS level....oopsss....

    I was never a member of Fitness First but this thread was very helpful to me since I was a potential client SANA!

    constantine should be reprimanded by the moderators for the behavior that he's showing to other members. This man is so sick!

    To the other members, lets continue discussing the topic in an objective manner, lets not mind the posts of constantine or we'll just be wasting our energy and time on him. Lets pretend that he doesn't exist on this thread. hahaha...His posts clearly show how he is as a person, so lets not go down to his level.

    Am a member of Fitness First. No problems so far... I do believe that they have to take good care of thier members if they are to remain in business. On the other hand we the customers should be responsible enough to read all the fine prints.

    Btw, Gold's Gym has not opened in Cebu simply because maybe they saw that there isn't enough market for such type of Gym in Cebu. Besides they aren't that aggressive in its expansion. Here in Manila they only have four branches, compared to Fitness First 9+ 1 Fitness First Plus.

    Well anyway, am glad naa'y FF sa Cebu para kung mo-uli ko puede sad ko mag work out dha... hehehehe

    I'm not surprised. Read the first story? The same thing happened to me. Ang difference lng kay i called 30 days before my contract would end, may 1..and they told me, just wait cuz somebody from admin or hr will call u to sign the cancellation form. So i was within the 30 days notification period. Nobody called. I did go there mga hapit na end sa may to sign the cancellation form when my 3 month contract would technically end may30, cuz i was told anytime before the end of the month. I specifically asked the girl who assisted me if i was going to be charged for june, and she said no cuz i gave 30 days notice. But then came out my billing statement with a charge for June!!! I called many times and was told the cancellation paper served as the notice and i should have filled it out 30 days before and that my account expires July. huhhhhh?

    i went to see the gen manager, no use talking to people at the front desk who can't do anything. he said he will reverse the charge. still waiting for it...

    i think the best recourse is to contest the charges with the credit card company that way the credit card issuer will not pay fitness first and the problem goes back to them. I have experience being charge erroneously and I contested it with the credit card issuer and they promptly deleted it sa next statement....So don't pay let them have all the troubles.

    hi everybody im a member also of FF but here in manila i was shocked if that this things happened din dito sa cebu. well, mas worse yan dito sa manila they are always promising and they will stand sa promise na but it will took for many months before they do an action not unless may mag wala din sa club nila. good thing for them that they came to PI ahead of Golds but guys you are tama what can you do to your bus. if you have a bad customer service diba? may i just ask do you have ice tea there? naku pag meron think first before you drink kasi from what i heared the staff sometimes pinag lalaruan nila ang pag timpla i guess you know what i mean?

    i just hope that they will succed dyan sa cebu. you know what hindi lang tayo member na may problem with them as well as thier staffs kasi ang bilis ng turn over sa kanila here in manila ma bigla ka na lang as member kasi may bago kang mukha makita every week. so it seems that they have some problems even though they are own by british people but the one who run this are the one who make the company worse and bad rep.

    Kaya guys! read First before signing! hehehe mao bitaw nga gi fine print para wala nay mobasa. pero to think of it on what happened to everyone who has complained in here or outside of this thread who has the same problem, better to face the general manager or the head of that company, they can answer your questions better than those sitting in the front desk or the assistants of the gen manager. unless the assistants were BRIEFED THOROUGHLY on the possible questions that will be thrown at him/her. of course its also better to ask clearly and thoroughly on every thing that is in question. as i've said before, maybe the main problem is in their ranks. better check them out. one bad rep spoils the whole broth.

    as for the credit cards, like what zirv said, you can contest the credit card company into not paying the charges issued to you. you can file for a reversal of charges and give reason as to why you want it reversed. of course you should attached the membership agreement that clearly shows how long they should charge you. i think that way solves the whole problem.

    With all due respect, sir, incorrect billings MAY not be intentional but SHOULD have been addressed to right away.

    Secondly, your excuse of having 40000 members IS NO EXCUSE AT ALL. If your company can't anticipate these problems, then you shouldn't have made such a huge target at all. Any company, be it a local retail store, a restaurant or an international health club, must ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN B.

    Thirdly, your Cebu Staff and Managers are ignorant about the rules of Customer Service and let me tell you why.

    My sister and I were charged DOUBLE our membership fee. We called your office but your receptionist told us to speak to your manager personally. So, we went there only to have your receptionist tell us that the manager is unavailable and we should just send her an email. We sent an email only to have it IGNORED by your Cebu manager. Excuse me, sir, but one of the rules of customer service is to ENTERTAIN THE CLIENT IMMEDIATELY. Now, you're telling me that I should contact your managers?!?!?! You've been leading us in circles and now YOU WANT ME TO GO TO THEM? With all due respect, sir, shouldn't your people contact us? After all, YOU MADE THE MISTAKE. Oh, and please, don't have your receptionist call my house again. Unless she has the power to rollback those charges, don't have her call me.

    Also, you claim that your office reverses incorrect billing within 7 days? Sir, my sister and I filed our complaint in January 2005. It's been 7 months and your office did NOT reverse anything. From where I come from, 7 days DOES NOT EQUATE to 7 months.

    I suggest your office better stop bragging about their world-class amenities and service BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WORLD-CLASS ABOUT IT.

    My sister and I tried this and the managers did nothing. See how bad this company is? Asta ang managers walay pakialam. It's like they're waiting for someone to leak this to the newspapers. Imagine what's gonna happen if all our stories get published in the inquirer.

    Suggestion lang...I think you should air your complaint to DTI so that this will be resolved as soon as possible...

    For me, you can air your complaint here for us to know the real situation about fitness first but the right venue to stop fitness first rant is DTI...
