I think nikon repair service is not a problem basta naa lang columbia warranty. When my d70 broke down, tawag ko columbia manila, then padala nako didto. Since it was still under warranty, no charge was made. Then padala nila balik nako ang cam... It took some time but at least gi-honor nila ang warranty.

No need for CDSC warranty since they will still service your Nikon camera even if it is a grey unit. Had the top LCD replaced on my old camera (broken accidentally) and paid 2.5K for parts and labor. I dunno if they charged premium over non CDSC units but I think it was reasonable.

yes,sa pag gamit ra na but sa duha naa gyud mas lig-un nla,naa gyud mas una mo bigay.about shifting to another brand,think of the lens your into,kung naa ba sa other brand ang lens imo gusto and the price pud..ex: pila difference sa canon 24-70 vs nikon 24-70 and ok ra ba nimo sharness,color sa canon vs the sharpness of nikon and color pud(it cost 80k+ mas mahal but its really sharper man gyud). another ex: nikon produce 85 1.4,while canon produces an 85 1.2L(its faster,sharper but it cost 100k+) think of the lenses gyud..naa advantage sa osa na less advantage pud sa osa and vice versa

the real reason why they decided to shift to nikon maybe because canon service center in cebu sucks. i once went to their service center in SM to repair my point and shoot cam, dugay kaayo ila service until the time they told me to pay the repaired part nga mas mahal pa ang price sa akong unit nga gipa repair, duuhhh... ilaha nato ako cam hehehe. made in japan ba raba gyud unta to hehehe.

There is no Canon Service Center at SM. The service center used to be located at Subangdaku, Mandaue City (ilawm sa flyover) and has since been moved to The Gallery @ J. Luna Avenue, Mabolo.
