Sa Cebu, very limited places lang and only if you time it correctly hehehe hahn manila has benchmades... as for spydercos..... you'll have to look at the surplus stores here in the metro but most of the time they do not have as for inexpensive alternatives, there is a store in sm that has inexpensive knives, which should be good for An EDC option and they look good to, and if the steel they use is as listed then it should hold an edge very well
hello ask lan ko question ha medyo OT gamay but probly still related.. what is the legal limit for blade length for a knife u can carry with you in public? im looking to buy a knife for every day carry and i want to stay with in the legal limit. if anyone can enlighten me about the local laws for knife carry i would really appreciate it. thanks in advance.
hmmm .. that would be debatable..as the legal length for carry is subjective, but I have carried a Spyderco endura and a Spyderco manix as my edc and have not had any reaction from any mall guards, but it would depend on where you are working and what you will use the knife for... because if questioned on why you have the knife you should be able to give a valid reason for carrying the knife.....I 'd say the safe limit would be around 2-3.5" for the blade....
thanks for your answer sir but im still a little confused. how can the legal limit be subjective? i am of course referring to civillian everyday carry. also i would be hard pressed to answer anyone asking me why i carry a knife with me, because it is a useful tool and can also be used for self defense? i am debating on getting a benchmade mini griptilian or a black bladed endura. i would have wanted to get a cold steel gunsite2 but it has a 4 inch blade..
Pls correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we have a law which specifically states any legal blade length. As long as you carry any size of blade outside your residence except if you use it in your line of work or for a lawful activity, it is already considered illegal. The old law also includes carrying of spear, pana, dagger, bolo, barong, kris, or chako.
However, like Gills mentioned, it is very subjective. One cannot be arrested just for carrying a knife. He or she might be using it legally as a tool. If the knife is branded, one can always say it is a utility tool. The ones that are difficult to justify carrying are improvised or home made knives/icepicks - the ones that look like it is solely made for killing.
So, juan_carlos, carrying a benchmade mini griptilian or a black bladed endura would most likely be the same as carrying a cold steel gunsite2. Just choose what you prefer.
