THe Taliban are engaged in a direct, in-the-face, conventional and non-conventional (guerrilla) battle with US Forces in Afghanistan. They are killing each other directly (unlike the "underground" war between the CIA and the al Qaeda) and visibly, out in the open, and you think the conspiracy theorists will say they are "in cahoots"? I don't think the conspiracy theorists are THAT stupid. If they are, then they surely must be crazy.

While this may be fact (with stress on "may" because these claims are not yet solidly founded), the point of the matter is, even if the Taliban is getting resources indirectly from US, this has no bearing on their declaration that Osama bin Laden is dead. I mean think about it from a logical perspective--unsay connection?

No doubt about it, OBL is dead meat. Thanks to Vice Adm. William McRaven who led the NAVY SEAL TEAM SIX on this "surgical" operation. For them killing OBL is not an impossible task, its not the same as the Phil Govt. getting rid of poverty in the Philippines. Which is not just close to impossible but its pure nuts.
