lisud kaayo naay jud dili magpalupig bai. hehe. im glad, and proud to say wala inani sa GAC. dugay dugay nako member diri sa istorya, and dugay dugay napud ko sige read kung unsa kalambu-an diris hobbies section of the forum, and i gotta say, daghan jug magpahambugay and dili jud magpalupig. i think the world doesnt care unsa kamahal imung gi collect, or unsa imung pagkalabaw ka isa ka collector. thats bs thinking. daghan kaayo ko kaila ganahan kaayo ug magcollect ug things, pero sad to say, bisan unsaon nila ug hunat, dili jud makaya ug palit ug toys. so if daghan tag toys na collect, nakalabaw nata ato? i dont think so. if inana ang attitude, then wala jud mabuhi na event/convention.

Hmm, wala dyud ko kaayo ka-subay ani ha. Ako i-summarize.

1) Si cris nag-solicit ug possible meet-ups to discuss how Cebu could have its own toycon.

2) Then nasuko si wake kay naa diay away daan lain na thread, I assume anime related.

3) Then nag-samok samok ko diri so na-apil ko gubot (ngano bitaw).

Pero base sa bago tubag ni wake, hmm, I must admit tinuod iya gisulti that I really don't have a passion for any of my hobbies kay sa ako these are material things and I just do it for fun, and the people who bought the toys I got tired with know how well I took care of them. Unsaon ma-pul-anon man. And it's also true that I can't afford all the toys that I want, ganahan kaayo ko Diskvision like si EVE ug kato ila latest na cute na demonyita na figure pero perteng mahala. So yeah, we're different and that's okay with me. When I start thinking about why I couldn't have as many things as other people, then that would be the start of one very unhappy life. Ganun talaga e, we can't all be wealthy. My father said that if we are, who would farm or fish for us? Who would pack our groceries or clean our comfort rooms?

And maybe this is the last time I'm going to post in this thread or even visit it. Yup, I made a mistake by amusing myself with the row between you and cris (I remember my highschool days when I tried to stop a gangfight and I got punched in the mouth instead). I have no excuse and I must apologize to you and cris.

balik sa toy convention, ako ni try nako organize ana, pero gi tapol ko when naka abot ko daghan obstacles.

here are some stuff to consider to make a toy convention:
1. venue. ideal kanang grabe traffic (tao) maayo unta SM or ayala. SM pabayad gyud ang trade hall. Ayala maybe musugot kay daghan naman related events nahitabu ngadto. i dont know though about parkmall pero BTC willing kaayo.... wala lay lugar ngadto. pero sa pikas thread naay daw exhibit para TF sa SM.... hopefully madayun to

2. display modules. i know ang mga collectors naay personal displayhanan. pero hassle kaayo dadon sa venue for an exhibit. if naay mu sponsor maayo kaayo na. pero dili pwede lamisa lang nya open for touching mga dulaan. dilikado. labi na sa mga model kits. mas maayo naay glass cover.

3. concessionaires/sponsors: good luck nalang ani. even if ako gi offer free selling/display hesitant gihapun. i've approach most (if not all) stores namaligya ug toys, even gaisano south sauna when nindut
pa ila stocks..... pero walay ni confirm.

4. other related activities: optional ni pero mas bibo ang event. cosplay, video gaming, drawing contest, whatever works.

ning try ko sauna sa handuraw. lingaw baya pero kapoy lang kaayo i solo. i contacted friends to display their personal stuff. ok raman sila during that time.

pero in my opinion, 1 & 2 and pinaka importante. sauna sa SM para gi joe and TF exhibit, sila ni provide sa place and modules. kadto hayahay. pero kung mag self produce ta, importante gyud ang 1 & 2.

I'd like to clarify that what I mean about the word "caliber" doesn't mean anything close to "how much worth" or "how many" I got. Heck it's not even related to money or superiority. So I don't see the reason why there's a need for these words: "palabwanay/patalbugay" and "padatu-ay". I just like to clarify the misunderstanding since it come to a point where "money" and "superiority" is involved.

My first concern here is that someone proposed how nice it is to have a Cebu toy con and that someone happened to be a trolling bastard who posted something before that insulted "me" (I wouldn't use the word "us" or "we" anymore since I think the other collectors here don't share the same sentiments)

Second, I got irritated with montoya's post that I think belittles my passion for this hobby (re: don't get angry over something this small....blah2x) and his level-headed comments kunohay, that were adding fuel to the fire and making things more chaotic and misleading as proven by the succeeding posts made by the other members.

I suggest you lay-off with those words. Superiority and money is not even the issue here. I don't think there's a need for those words here in the first place. I don't even know why you two come up to that same conclusion. I was just defending my stand here for what I think is right. Now if defending someone's stand is "BS thinking" then that's fine with me. I rather spout BS than be silent and take everything that's been shoved to my face even if I'm strongly against it.

Montoya: Piece of advice, don't take things you read literally. That's why I suggested that you read my post when your "adult thinking" sets in diba?

I don't even know who you are or where you live/work etc. and I'm not even a little bit interested in finding those facts out anyway. I don't see what I can gain by doing so. So no need to be paranoid or anything.
