^ That's reality. We can't be too demanding especially that nowadays millions of Filipinos don't have jobs. It's no longer just a matter of pride, it is a matter of surviving. Our unemployed workforce is already something to be worried about, how much more if the BPO's haven't come? We're lucky enough to have an industry that employs so many people who otherwise would be beggars or scavengers. I for one am very thankful to the BPO, they are a fast employer.

But don't worry, soon enough, the Philippines will catch more competitive jobs than just call center. Say for example the KPO or the Knowledge Process Outsourcing which requires more intellectual prowess. We're still poor but we are growing and hopefully in the future we can be as rich as Singapore.

For Cebu, I guess it goes like this, Tommy O was the previous mayor of Cebu City, he planned to make Cebu the Philippines richest City. And so SRP was born. Cebu's financial coffers were nearly emptied and had to plunge itself into heavy debt just to fund the project. Infrastructure was left out, the City's streets became so distressed and exhausted. That is one reason why Cebu lost to Davao in terms of being the most livable.

Now, our suffering is paying back. SRP is now selling like hotcakes with many national and international investors vying for a place in the South Road Properties. With Rama now in place, he promised to "revitalize" Cebu. To restore the "small island town" atmosphere of the City. Most of the projects now are to getting rid of the spaghetti wires, improvement of roads and sidewalks and also the traffic system. He is also seeking to improve our emergency response capabilities to help Cebu go back to what it once was. His "beautification" policy will indeed restore the natural beauty that Cebu lost when it chose the path of economic dominance. As they say, economic progress comes at a price and this is it. But then again, we can always balance them out. Soon after his term, Cebu will no longer be just simply, the economic powerhouse of the south but also one of the most livable cities in the country. The payback of the SRP is thrice more than the money we invested in building it.

Davao was opposite, Duterte priotized the livability of Davao. He enforced so many ordinances and disciplined the people. Now I am just awed by the fact that whenever I return to Davao, I'm so confident in bringing my "blings" out on the street without worrying of snatchers. It's much safer, cleaner and more relaxing. Many open areas and of course the people themselves are so welcoming. Now, it's DVO's time to shine, it's economy is starting to gain momentum, investors are now getting more interested with the City once more. And so it's not long enough that DVO's economy would be as advanced as it's public services. We just have to be more patient.

so ang BPO karun tourist destination na? kay ang pangutana kung aha man nindot suruyan gud. Or housing para puy-an. hehehehehe.

i think you meant opportunities na gihatag sa BPO. its understandable naman uy. no need to go into details. you are derailing the conversation.

You can go further bai. Sa davao stricto jud keu sa mga clubs and bars but we can still smoke outside. Sa Cebu unta total ban jud as in bawal bcg asa except sa balay. Mao nay gusto sa Mayor sauna but naging lenient cya. Cguro naluoy pud cya sa mga vendors. Pero posible man cguro na ba.

been 2 both places but what i can say is that the 2 have something to brag about. if we talk of convenience, you can reach establishmens in cebu anywhere at any time and fast kay medyo accessible ra ang mga adtoonon. one or two rides lang, abot naka but the disadvantage is the traffic. in davao, ang mga adtoonon kay toyoon gyud kaayo, lagyo especially if you are not living in the city but what's nice is panagsa ra ang traffic og dagko ang roads, paspas ka maabot kay makapakusog kag padagan. hehehe.

usa pa the crime rate in davao is incredibly low if not none, compared to cebu hehe thanks to the governor's iron hand when it deals with criminals. the city has a mixture of the probinsya as well as the city feel. pareho sa city ka progressive pero ig ka gabii sayo pud mangatug ang mga taw, as early as 8 or 9pm mingaw na hehe just like in the province. except in the hotspots and the night gimik hubs bibo gihapon.

if you're fond of outdoor adventure, davao has really a lot to offer. beaches, mountain resorts, extreme adventure, you name it. apil pa ang mga nature2x something daghan gyud kaayo kung mahilig ka og educational tours and learning while having fun and getting in touch with nature hehehehe. hasta ang mga plantations pud daghan sa mga tanom. even isda ngadto very fresh, maoy lami kan-on instead of meat. hehe. which is why i think davao has a lesser cost of living than cebu kay daghag katamnan.

cebu is rapidly progressing gyud, as in daghan kaayog developments lined up especially businesses, infrastracture etc. but soon the city can become saturated like metro manila. i hope lang not as polluted as manila. davao is still breathing fresh air while becoming more and more urbanized. and not to mention their land area, it's one of the biggest cities if not provinces in the whole world. so there's a lot of room pa gyud for more projects. if hilig kag malling, naa sad ngadto malls. hehe. naay SM nila (although it's size is one half of cebu's SM), victoria plaza og ang walang kamatayang Gaisano. and mind you, their Gaisano is as big as Ayala Cebu. sosyal pud og sud unlike the usual gaisanos we have hehehe

cebu is a small island very accessible to many other great islands like bohol, samar, masbate, iloilo, dumaguete, etc. mga premier nga suroyanan sa pinas. one ride lang with fast craft. ang sa davao sad is part of a very huge piece land and you can travel from there to any point in mindanao by land. kalas lag gasolina. hehe. from davao you can go to gensan, butuan, bukidnon, cagayan de oro, iligan, cotabato, etc. all by land. murag pina cross country hehe.

i've lived in cebu for 7 years but was raised in mindanao and all i can say is visiting davao gyud is worth it. it's another incredible world that can offer a lot of things that you have never experienced before in cebu. hehehehe. we can't really compare both asay mas nindot kay there are things in davao nga wala sa cebu and vice versa. to experience and to see is to believe. hehe
