wats wrong with BPO companies diay bro? did you know that:

BPO industry in the Philippines has grown 46% annually since 2006. This boom is led by demand for offshore call centers. Industry estimates from the Board of Investments, Business Process Association onf the Philippines (BPA/P) and BPO Services Association (BSA/U) put the number of people employed by the BPO sector by end of 2008 at 435,000 (vs 372,000 in 2007)- excluding the non-BOI/ non-PEZA entities. The BPO output for 2008 was US$ 6.1B (vs US$ 4.5B in 2007), putting the Philippines as the 3rd largest BPO destination (15%) after India (37%) and Canada (27%). It was expected to hit US$ 7.2B to 7.5B in 2009. The industry was optimistic of 18% growth in headcount 2009.

Overall, Philippine BPO is forecast to earn between US $11 to 13 billion and to employ 900,000 additional people in 2010. To achieve and sustain this growth, the Philippine government offered fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to attract foreign direct investment in these industries as part of the 2007 Investment Priorities Plan. The IPP was prepared by the Board of Investments (BOI), as the lead agency in promoting investments, focused on the sectors identified in the Medium-Term Philippine Development Plan (MTPDP) 2004-2010 (PBOI 2006).

Majority of the BPO facilities are located in First Tier cities in Metro Manila and Cebu. Second and Third Tier sites are located in regional areas such as Bacolod City, Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro, Clark (Angeles City), Dagupan City, Davao City, Tacloban City, Dumaguete City, Lipa City, Iloilo City, Legazpi City, Iligan City, Olongapo City and Urdaneta City.

dont say - "unsa nga jobs call center? duh mura pug unsa. " because grabe ang tabang sa BPO companies sa Pinas not only sa kwarta/budget but also trabaho. im not working in a call center but i guess my job could be considered one of the BPO jobs because i am outsourced overseas. two thumbs up jud ko sa mga call centers kay if wala ni ambot asa ibutang ang mga milyon na mga pinoy na ni graduate every year.

When it comes to economy, any bad publicity will be a weakness of a city or a country.
it you look at it on a different way that "it's their perception" then theres no problem with that, but when it comes to investors points of view its basically a weakness. if you're going to compare the number of investors, [no offense] but Davao is way behind Cebu check our revenue as proof.

I always admired Duterte when it comes to peace and order, and I think its a good tandem if their going to run as Pres. and VPres, Osmeña is obviously as the president since he has more knowledge when it comes to our economy[Phil] and most of all international connections.

    OT:
if you really feel that Davao has a good economy/opportunities to offer to their locals, then tell it to those Davaoeños who are working here in Cebu. I don't want to debate when it comes to revenue because it's an OT already.

so, kung aha dapit ang nindot suroyan, it will always depend on a person, and in my humble opinion I would say Cebu. [aside from it offers lots of opportunities compared to Davao].

Naa p diay bai..don't get me wrong ha..i don't mean to offend or anything..wala ko nkiglalis. Bai kanang foreign investment imo ginaingon..it's only crude politics. Davao or Mindanao is in the US list of banned destinations. Of course, investors consider the ban. But it's just one stroke of a pen. Duh atik2 r na ila. Invest man gani cla sa middle east nga haskang giraha didto. not to mention the great differences between their two cultures. pero ngano? kay hangol man clag oil.

Pero mao pud gani na akong ingon diri dati na Cebu is obviously economically ahead of Mindanao..In effect datu and Cebu kaysa sa Davao. Why then, sa kadaghan sa inyong international awards and foreigh investment, can you not make it to the top of the list sa national awards like cleanest city or most peaceful city. These may not be so shiny awards, actually they're dim, but they tell a lot about you in a local point of view, forget about foreigner's.

Ka OT na ba ani ui..But anyway kung ang cebu number 1 sa mga bagay akong gmention above, IDOL jud ta mo.

Just to make clear, we agree on one thing. Kung suruyay Cebu jud eh. I've always said that.

Mao ba.. i thought Clark is already "emerged" destination. I thought the term meands First Tier.
Bai..relax i'm a call center agent. mao gani. if only we can give our millions of graduates, including myself, a better alternative we should.

Im from Cebu but have been to Davao, I love both. But it depends upon personal preference in each one of us. For me I vote for Cebu since im a Cebuano and I happened to love this place because its one of the most strategic island in the visayas. Its the hub of all visayas region where you can travel to different parts either by sea, land or air. The best is you can enjoy traveling while seeing the white sandy coastlines of the neighboring places.

and ahem, mindanao have no weakness?? u sure about that?? how about the killings of mediamen, politicians, and its people in maguindanao last year?? weakness sa mindanao yan.... how bout the bombings in davao airport (forgot the year)?? weakness napod na (davao city na hap)... how about kidnappings by abu sayyaf?? weakness napod na... how about kidnapping of teachers, and graduating students in agusan del sur just recently this year during graduation?? another weakness napod ni sa mindanao...

even cebu has a weakness pod... i must admit that... with all the biases i have, i prefer cebu... taga cebu gud ko...
Wala man cguro gaingon diri na naay bati na city. The weakness part is about the perception part which was partly raised because of the insensitive comment part which is partly spread by the part above. Ok part.

What else is new? ako wala lagi ko gkidnap..naa ko diri tunga sa Mindanao.

DAMAGE CONTROL, ay kapuy na man..hehehehe..
