The tariff rate on rice was raised for a reason. Making rice accessible to many does not in any way make all the other things he did look better. Make the country dependent on food imports and you basically start killing our own local production. Not good in the long run.
The stock market manipulation done by his crony (and boy did he have a lot and the shady kind to boot) alone was a danger so great even the PSE itself "revolted" against a sitting president.
Erap had no shame whatsoever, acting like a Tondo siga even when he was president. Erap was all about trying to make as much money as he could not only through graft and corruption but through other inherently illegal things like gambling and smuggling. How else could he have afforded buying billion peso properties for his very large immediate family?
Meanwhile back in 2011, we have another Erap in the making. A tool for a president who has absolutely no plan for the country's economic well being. We elected an incompetent President in 1998 and we did so again last year because we were amused, because we felt like doing so. At least for what it's worth, Erap was entertaining til the end.

Here is something to make us all remember the greatness of Erap. Sigh brings back so many memories...
MAKING A SPEECH
While typing Erap's speech to be delivered in joint commnunique,
Erap's secretary paused awhile and asked Erap.
Secretary: Sir, dalawa nga ba ang -o- sa unahan ng cooperation?
Erap: Dagdagan mo pa nang isa para sigurado.
