i dont want to spend 2 hours of my life just to watch a scoreless game!
I do think football(or soccer) is still an incomplete game,
Still they dont have global rule or a concensus on what to do when a game is tied or scoreless, lahi2 na league lahi2 na rule.

asa ka ana, kay kng tabla ang game or scoreless both kay madaug ra sa free kick? world cup pa jd! dba team game man ni?

    adto jd ko basketball!

I love basketball, it will always be the sport that I grew up playing. Until now, I follow NBA games over the internet and tv.

Most Filipinos don't understand football. It's simple: we don't play the game. We don't have the passion for it. It's just the same as rugby, american football, baseball, crickett, or any sport we don't play. Just because we don't play it, it doesn't mean the sport sucks. If we played football when we were still 2 years old, I'm sure our idols right now would be Messi, Kaka, C. Ronaldo, or Rooney and not LeBron, Kobe, or MJ.

Football is not easy, it's a lot harder than basketball. You think shooting a three with a hand on your face is hard? Try dribbling a ball with your feet across a field and then shoot it at the goal.

The nature of both games is different. Basketball is fast-paced: you have 24 seconds to shoot the ball or it's a turnover. In football, you have to string multiple passes together (I've seen FC Barcelona string together 60+ passes while Real Madrid was just chasing shadows) before shooting the ball at the goal. Football requires patience because scoring opportunities are just a handful. It's the nature of the game.

I also don't agree that football is boring. Watching paint dry is boring, but football, nah. Even a goalless match can have cardiac arrest moments as well. The World Cup is a sporting event watched by more people in this planet than any other sporting event, including the Olympics. Wars are started and ended because of football. During World War II, Allied and Axis forces in Europe would call a truce for hours just to play football against each other, then return to shooting each other after the match.

You say there's no general rule in football? All football leagues follow FIFA's rules. Where have you been, dude? Before you speak out against football, at least do some research so can get your facts straight.

And let's not start a basketball vs. football thread again. It's pointless. Why not let the 2 sports' merits speak for itself. We Pinoys will always love basketball, it's in our DNA. I still can't get over the fact that Steve Nash might retire without winning a championship. However, it wouldn't be so bad if we would also learn to play and love football because we have so much potential. It's not called the beautiful game for nothin'.

football because of the Azkals and only because of the Azkals. they don't even know the rules of the game or how it's played etc. they care only that the Azkals are sariling atin.

when the Azkals slow down(or some of their players get into showbiz) the sport will sink back into obscurity from the general public again.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you visit this thread you don't like other sports.

I was born to play basketball. since i was 7 or 8 years old i keep on playing basketball.. and i'm following every game from PBA to NBA to FIBA.. but i can say that football or soccer is more interesting to watch than basketball. because every team plays, you can see the crowd shouting and chanting for their own team. in every FIFA WQ there are billions of people following the game, but no wonder why filipinos don't mind it because we are in basketball crazy country. i love to watch Barcelona vs Real Madrid or Manchester United vs Chelsea than watching Lakers vs Celtics or Heat vs Spurs. but i respect your own decision guys which game you would prefer to watch.
