I'll have to disagree. If in-ana ka kadali ma distract, then dli na siya a question of what medium you use for learning. It's a problem with your discipline or, more appropriately, the lack thereof.

Also, learning how to program using a book is like learning how to drive without the car. It's just downright wrong.

If you keep yourself away from your computer kay hadlok ka ma distract from learning how to program, you might as well throw the damn thing out the window. It's useless. Futile, even.

Ontopic: Anyway, this thread has been dead for awhile now. And it seems that whoever asked for help are no long interested. Oh well.

naa pud kay gamayng point bro...pero sa imohang second paragraph is sayup, daghan man mga programmer nga sa libro sila gikan and na katon infact ka daghanan nila sa libro jud labi na mga amerkano hilig ayo mangolekta libro and dili man ka sa libro mag practise bro...basa ra ka sa libro, practise ka sa computer.

anyways sa akoa lang nga part mas dali ko makaton sa libro...kaysa mag basa online or ebooks. lahi lahi man style kada tawo gud naa pud koy migo nga anti libro sab naa pud koy migo nga pro libro sab so depende ra jud na sa tawo

    cheers

ako makatulog ra jud ko og magbasa og dugay...
Find the point or core or concept...
    Understand it!
    Apply it! I-code dayon...

I also notice that those having problems with programming actually have a fear to start writing code. The fear helps you get rid of your focus and forget a lot of things altogether. Remember your goal, never hesitate on doing your goal and overcome your goal...then find another goal.

distraction is a very lame excuse... if you really want to learn focus learn to let go those distraction... time management...

i agree with kamahak, why? immersing you self to programming directly guarantees learning... and i mean learning it the hard way...

the harder you learn the better, ako nakat-on kung php in 3 days (i have to) using w3schools, and php.net, i never read books or ebooks, they are for lazy people... if you want to learn do it, then learn from experienced...

when i applied for a web developer dili pako kabalo ug php, they hired me because i was profecient in jquery and css, i only knew css, html and js, they made me do a simple but dynamic website in one week... thats how i learned php the hardway...

there's this sayin nga hangtod karon nitatak sa akoa utok... EXPERIENCED IS THE BEST TEACHER.... there is no experienced in books they are made for lazy people...

ang technique sa programming para dili malisod is ENJOY IT LOVE IT, for me programming is like playing RTS or playin COD using only a pistol (thats for me), a jigsaw puzzle nga kinghanglan i complete...
