Smart Wifi and Linksys Router, anybody use it?

A friend of mine got smart wifi, which worked just fine. Now he purchased a router (LinkSys Wireless G-Router) and dont know what and how he has to configure the router to use it with Smart Wifi. He just plugged it and cant access the internet at all.

I have DSL, so I could not tell him more about how to use Smart Wifi with the router, but maybe somebody here in the forum has a connection with Smart Wifi and router and can give some hints.

Maybe he still hasn't configured his router yet. Although mine is smart-wifi plus edimax router (not wireless) but it works fine.
You have to configure the router to act as DHCP so that all computer connected to the router will have IP's then configure your OS to access internet thur your LAN. Most router have web configuration this day. my router uses 192.168.2.1 in order for me to configure my router. Just see your manual.

As far I know dhcp is enabled (because he get 192.168.1.100 assigned).
Maybe he has to clone his MAC address (like you would if you use cable internet with a router), dont know.

it's best if he clone the MAC address to avoid redirection to Smart portal to activate his account again. i used to have a smart wifi and a linksys router worked perfectly. although my linksys is not wireless.

Would be just great if anybody practically USE Smart Wifi WITH a Linksys Router and can port ste settings here.

Any configuration hint? No internet connection if the router is between.

try changing the linksys router ip to 192.168.2.1 instead of the default 192.168.1.1 so that it gives out dhcp ip's starting at 192.168.2.100. there might be a conflict between the smart wifi device & the router.

i've been experiencing nowadays sad..
naa ko wireless linksys router and smartbro wifi

at first kay ok ra..pero the next day kay mawala wala na siya..
if naa na siya kay after 2 minutes mawala nasad dayon..
y man kaha ni noh? wala ra man daw kay hilabtan..

ang gateway kay 192.168.1.1
ok raman tanan tua ngadto.

ok ra diay ako i change ang ip to 2.1 sa?

karon kay ako nlng usa gi switch back from smartwifi to my pc.

sayon rmaan na mga bro, ako wala ko ana, pero ang akong mga extra income nga client naa ana, nya ako ang nag configure, so, kuhaon ra ninyo ang address sa smartbro, ibutang sa inyong router, nya inig click ninyo sa internet explorer, mo pop-up ang smartbro nga webpage, so type nimo imong account ug password, maka connec naka, kong de pa gihapon ka ka connect, ay tawga alng ko pero nana nay charge kay ako man ang mu anha sa inyo.
