let's take this with a grain of salt. Cebu does have what it takes to be BPO competitive. But why latin america? habla espanol? We have to retrain to speak spanish. Is spanish still an elective in college?

I'm all for marketing Cebu to pump in investments and new guests .... although I really think we need to concentrate with our infrastructure. I've had several conversations with foreigners investing in Cebu and its the same complaint every time, Roads, Water , Red tape so on .....I think we need to fix our existing roads, figure a way to get constant water , electricity to these people (although I know there are some newer plants made) and streamline our process making it safe and easy for people.

I just hope BPOs will also boom on the South Side of Cebu to lessen traffic and promote jobs. Cebu City/Lapu-lapu/Mandaue are currently overcrowded.

Its not just the roads , but infrastructure as a whole not just part of it , ie airports , data , process, finance so on ....

And what we need is to train more STUDENTS to be ready to be employed in the BPO sector. That is the setback for us. We are just a small island and our ETHIC population cannot really sustain such a huge demand for workers. If we can find a way to expand that POOL OF COMPETITIVE workers then we're more than ready to face off London and New York.
