Among those trapped were people who were inside the Robinson's Mall when the fire broke out, as well as those who were inside the elevator at the Midtown Hotel, which is located just beside the mall. Most of those trapped were employees of the department store.

wala'y fire alarm system ang robinson and midtown hotel, kasagaran sa mga guest sa midtown wa kahibaw nga naa diay sunog. i hope wala'y namatay. naa ra ko sa ramos are when the incident happened and the road near robi (f. ramos st) kay very dark tungod sa aso.
