grabeh jud maka exaggerate ang media, ang japanese authorities kay 20mi or km radius bato ang evacuation area nya sakyan dayun nila na ingon ang US na dapat 100 mi/ km jud daw to... gipalabas nila na either kuwang ang efforts sa japan or lousy pagkahimo ila planta, which is totally the opposite, sobra2x gani ila contingency plans... cant trust media najud...

I read this too, but sadly, people won't notice. Anytime they hear "nuclear", "blast", and "meltdown" in the same sentence, plus media hype and hyperbole, people wont' care about context anymore.

This will undoubtedly set back nuclear energy research for years. Tis sad, considering that nuclear power is a great alternative to coal, oil, and natural gas. Further research could have been done for safer nuclear reactor designs, but sadly, funding for them will have been dried up by the time this crisis is over.

Very true, there is proposed nuclear power plant in the next province to mine and i think it will be shot down for sure because of this event. When people think of nuclear they general think of... Radiation... Chernobyl... Hiroshima... In reality more people will be effected from the building of coal, hydro and gas power plants.

We should be investing money and time to look into nuclear power, not less.

Yep. It's pretty much fail now. Radioactive dust will spread through the western side, irradiating Seoul, Pyongyang then Beijing. Fukushima will be the next Pripyat, Ukraine and will be uninhabitable for more than a century. Might as well consider having a Neotokyo because Tokyo's water source is irradiated.

Right, because Hiroshima and Nagasaki was uninhabitable after the nuclear blasts. AMIRITE?
