Opinions, opinions.
When I read the first post, the first thing that came to my mind was 'photo farming.'
This is a forum and people would have different opinions and said opinions would rub people the wrong way thus the 'heated' arguments.
I'm still trying to analyze the first post though by tagging key words and all I can really think of asking right now is, "What's the goal of the photoshoot?"
I'm inclined to agree with my namesake Karlo's comment which is quoted in #137 though.
However, regardless of my opinion, I'm sure vanix09 is right too. There would be photographers - pro or not - willing to lend a hand.
If someone asks me to shoot FHM models for free, then HECK YES!!!

-SO THAT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND-
mao ni ang sugod: everytime naa mi bag.ong items sa among online shop sa FB sa hair accsries, mag photoshoot jud ko anah. karon kay pagpost nako sa mga pictures naa may nangutana kung makajoin ba sila sa photoshoot sunod. ako sila giingnan nga "lingaw2 raman ni ako kay among baligya tag 50 rman tawn nga mga pugong oi. lingaw2 rman ni ako gud mag photoshoot sa amo items with models." pagpost nako balik ug status nga nana mi bag.o items ibaligya, nang send ug msg katong gnhan moapil, if they could join nah so I said cge para daghan ta. Until it reached the time na nanaghan sila coz they invited other friends to join napud coz i was ok with it at least lingaw mi daghan mo shoot.
Unya, nangtana dayon ang uban nga gnhan mokyog if naa bay prof phtgrpher para makatabang ug hatag ug ideas about photography. So I said "CGE Ako suwayan sa istorya ha kay basin naay gnhan ba nga prof photrpher na movlunteer ug tudlo kay completo naman tanan igo raman xa mohatag ug tips den ato lang guro ishoulder ang iyaha transpo ug food, kato kami sauna we had a photoshoot with Alberto Abay and never did he asked for money even a single cent, Also with James Russell an american photographer who visited Cebu and now based in Makati (official photgrapher of P&G), he just gave tips and suggestions and that's it.
The main purpose of my shoot is for my very cheap items. I pay for the place, I pay for the models, I pay for the make-up artists and designers coz I want to have fun. I love photography.
Newbies volunteered to join. Newbies asked me if I knw someone who can give them tips. I just gave way to help other people to have a full set of photoshoot without giving them a hassle of anything.
If my purpose was to ask for a prof photgrpher to shoot that event, and BENEFIT FROM his pictures, I'd rather pay him. Take note: I will only be using my shots to be posted in my album page coz that is my business. Di ko mangayo ug shots sa uban taw.. y wud i? I take pictures as well!
about exposure: based from our experience, nakaapil mi ug photoshoot nga gidiscussan jud mi halos tanan but we didnt pay anything for it. So as A sign of gratitude to that prof phtgrpher, almost all who joined sa phtoshoot would label their album sa fb, multiply, blogs, etc as (name of prof phtgrpher) WORKSHOP.
I hope this could clear things out. Others will never care to understand coz they find this thread very interesting to read kay naay away2...
well explained. discussion over. now that it's clear, volunteers, start volunteering.
i would have been interested to join and try to share what i learned cuz i've shot a few or more events, jewelry, cars, models and landscapes. kaso lng, i have an event krn sabado so i can't join.
tip i'd like to share: bring your flashguns and some light modifiers if you have them. also, bring remote triggers. lighting will definitely add some drama to your shots.
the idea of the event is actually nice. free food and transpo plus free advertisment for the photographer. id liek to join pero adto ra guro ko mabelong sda mga noobs.=p im dont consider myselp a prof photog.=p update nya mam ha kung asa ni magkita ug abot.=p
well said TS.
I'm locking this thread before this goes OT again. To volunteers, pm the TS.
