Default Beware of buying stolen phones!

I'm appealing to everyone to be careful and sensitive enough not to buy stolen phones, electronic gadgets or anything offered for sale that is dubious in nature.

Thieves thrive because there's a market for their loot. Because buying a stolen item is tantamount to supporting their activities.

IF IN DOUBT, ALWAYS DEMAND FOR AN OFFICIAL RECEIPT OF THE ITEM. Usually, the receipt contains the name of the original buyer, the date the item was bought, the item's exact model and its corresponding price and the buyer's signature. The seller of the second-hand item shud be able to show u the official receipt.

How to tell a stolen mobile phone? In the absence of the official receipt, the list below may serve as ur guide:

    • when offered at a very low price compared to the suggested retail price at the shop.
    • if it lacks a product box with manual or any accessories bundled with it such as a battery charger, earphone or headphone, USB connector, etc.
    • if the seller himself doesn't even know how to operate the phone ()
    • if the seller doesn't know some of the features of the phone

there might be some other telltale signs of stolen mobile phone offered for sale but the above list shud make u think twice before u offer to buy it.

up for this thread.... but to tell you NOT all phones that sold here in istorya.net doesn't have receipts are stolen items why?.. here are some reasons, some members here are merchants who do buy and sell, not just from this site but from outside world either, some reasons are that the said unit(he/she is selling is a gift or an extra phone brought or given to her by a relative) in that way we can never retrieve the receipt

stores provide OFFICIAL RECEIPT because the BIR will tail them
buy and sell merchants cannot always provide receipt because they bought it randomly!
it is GOOD that we fellow istoryan are concern for each other, but try to consider... by DEMANDING an OFFICIAL receipt will sometimes have a problem. Please do understand that not all items that are sold here that don't have any OFFICIAL RECEIPT is a stolen item.

dili tungod walay box, headset, acc ang usa ka unit kinawat na! dili tungod bogo ang namaligya kai d kahibaw mugamit or mag present sa unit kinawat na ang item! Don't be so judgmental, i am speaking for all buy and sell merchants kai igo kaau me aning ALWAYS DEMAND AN OFFICIAL RECEIPT! Kai dili tnang taw mang hipos sa ilang recibo.

    up for this thread!

Sir, giunsa nimo na hibawan kung asa gprenda imo stolen phone? ga-i me sa info,Sir, aron maka hibaw me unsa buhaton.

Up for this thread. I agree w/ redjvshopnshop..not all items na kuwangan ug accessorry/ies, walay resibo, walay box, or walay kaalamag sa info bout sa items are stolen.. we can't really tell if the item is a stolen unit not unless if the device's SN/IMEI is reported "stolen"---mao ra sad ang prob, wala ta kabalo asa makapanguta if stolen ang item/s..

I'm sorry....but I find ds funny.... Maybe a good 5% ra gyud ang naa'y resibo on any USED item gyud....... And NO ONE AT ALL mo-ingon "bai, barato ra kaayo ni bai kay kinawat ni"... The best ones that you'll get would be, posting for a friend / sa akong manghod, papa, mama, maguwang, auntie, uncle, ug uban pa....

When you buy a second hand item, these should be expected na.... Labi pa nang naa sa jarduls, binglens, jerome, ug uban pa....dawat lagi ka resibo.....pero ILANG resibo....dili sa original seller or warranty receipt sa store.....

I meant no disrespect TS but mao gyud na ang reality sa second hand items.....

it was really my instinct lang gyud. ky naa man gud nag sell ug receipt sa phone nia IMO seldom ra kaau ang mugamit ug htc desire. then ang na prendahan ky near raman sa among place. then nawala akong phone ky sa amo rasd dapit. and namasin ko, nga basig ako. nia mao to, i had to pretend nga mu buy sa receipt para makita lang ang unit. and there, pag tan.aw nako, kay ako man jud kay naa mai marking akong desire. mao to, ni ask kog help sa talisay police station to recover my phone. na swerte.an lang ko ky nag branch out ang mga coincidences. and sa k2ng nag sell sa receipt, ky i guess na victim ra sd to sa mga snatcher nga mamrenda ug phone sa pawnshop nia isell ang receipt sa lain nga cellshop pra sila nai mulukat then baligya.
